The Buffalo Sabres will have two captains heading into the new season as the team announced Thomas Vanek will wear the C at home, while Steve Ott will do so on the road. Meanwhile, defenseman Christian Ehrhoff will serve as the team's alternate captain for all games

Wow, that was some game. First, the Bruins get penalized in the first 2 seconds of a penalty kill to make a 5 on 3 against them that was supposed to last 1:58. Just when you start to think they're going to let the game get tied, the Lightning get a penalty and we score a 4 on 3 SHG to make it 3-1...

Awesome game, seems their penalty kill has improved big time, but time will tell. They did get a bad call on the second goal that did not count.

The man just gave us an absolutely HUGE hometown discount. No doubt in my mind whatsoever that he could have added at least an extra mil a year to that deal on the open market. he took less money to stay with this team, and it's not in question. Bravo chia!

Not surprised to read that the LA and second NY outdoor games are not selling out yet. I already thought that they expanded too much too quickly, but of course they are also charging outrageous prices (and already had to discount some for these games). Won't be long before the novelty of freezing your ass off in a baseball stadium watching a rink half a mile from your seat and at a bad angle will wear off. The golden goose is on life support.

The NHL have said there won't be six outdoor games next year. Good. Not all of these sold out and the whole thing smacks of killing the golden goose. We've all seen photos taken in the stands, where the rink is so far away. I can't believe people will be paying top dollar for these games on a longterm basis once the novelty wears off and supply exceeds demand.
