Hopefully a similar outing for both pitchers last starts. If the Rays can score 9 runs against him and we can't even score a few runs I'm going to rage. This offense is due and they're playing with our best pitcher this year. The Red Sox did not meet expectations at all this year but for the love of god get a winning record. Just win the damn game and do it for Yaz.

dice can only improve the impression he leaves with GM's if he pitches up here. If he pitches poorly, he is no worse off...if he pitches well then he leaves ML GM's with a much better impression than they probably have had. I would be surprised if the Sox gave him a shot at this point.

Maybe it's because he has been hurt for so long. Maybe it's because when he is healthy he has been so consistently inconsistent. But it seems to me that Dice K goes a little under the radar when the discussion centers around the starting pitching woes. As bad as Beckett, Lester, and Lackey have been, Dice K has been just as disappointing, if not more so. All 4 of these guys as a group have underperformed even the lowest of expectations in each of the years they have been together.

 

Thankfully, this offseason will be the first in what should be a trend of rebuilding this failed and expensive rotation. Ideally, Dice K won't be the only guy who won't be here next year. Results start and end with talent, preparation, and the right attitude. All of which this current group does not have.

 

Thankfully, this FO learned their lesson and stayed out of the Yu Darvish sweepstakes.

I think the game threads are empty cause people just don't know what to say anymore. I mean September 2011 has gone on for six months now and I think most of us can admit that the buildup to last September had been showing bad signs for a LONG time before it happened. I really hope this team purges itself properly this off season but I have lost a lot of faith in their ability to see beyond the money pouring in from the pink hats.
