As long as they don't pay Ross the ridiculous money some folks were talking about earlier this year, he is a good keep for the Sox.

I would predict that if kept for a similar length of time, Ross, even with his limitations, will get more significant hits...meaning game changing hits than some of these overpriced guys who will pad their numbers at meaningless times in meaningless contests but will not do much more than that.

Saw Swisher's HR in the 3rd or 4th. Morales grooved a straight fastball right down the middle. Just the wrong pitch at the wrong time. And Salty didn't even attempt to frame his glove on the outside corner.

You don't have to watch a lot to see what's wrong with their starters grooving pitches. Salty doesn't appear to be much help moving his glove around off the center of the plate. The pitchers are throwing too many pitches down the middle. That wouldn't happen a few years ago.

Thank you Soxsport....I have been waiting for somebody to notice that Salty's target is usually two inches either side of dead middle. What does he expect them to do...throw at his shinguard?

Honest to God I hate the way this team is put together. What a misfit, mismatched bunch of players. But while the FO takes the blame for that....the game is won or lost on the field.....the way they play is horrifying. They have my eleven year old little leaguer rolling on the floor most nights. Even he is smart enough to feel bad for Pedey.

Mort just does not have much going for him....All he can do is try to be perfectly fine...something like Cook only worse.
He's a nobody that has nothing-- a bush leaguer all the way. If the back end of our bullpen had not been dismantled, Aceves would have pitched the 6th and 7th and we would have locked the game down with our 8th inning guy and closer.

I am beginning to think that Sox Management gave up on this season before it ever started. It is so obvious that they were gambling like crazy on the rotation and if you are going to gamble like crazy on the rotation why would you decide to be solid elsewhere? Ya' gotta' start where it all starts (pardon the pun).

By the time it is all over, I predict that the rotation will have lost a staggering amount of games in total. I guess they will have to for people to take off their blinders and realize that the rotation issues this year go way deeper than Beckett and Lester.

I would have a lot more respect for the FO if they would just come out and say "Ok this is not the season we had in mind. We can try and have this and next season be a building period". What would be the harm in saying something like that to the "Nation"? In a way it would somewhat cover theirs and the team's ass for doing such a lousy job game wise. Or am I thinking too much out of the box here?

They went into the season knowing that this would not be a strong or dominant team. With the 2 wild cards in effect, they were hoping to be competitive. When you are hopingto be competitive and something goes wrong, this is what you get. If they had built a team that they though would be dominant and they fell short, they'd probably be competitve. Since the season started, it was obvious that this team needed to be reinforced and the FO did nothing. The guys they brought in in many instances couldn't get claimed off the waiver wire. It was a parade of trash--- Nava (yes he did a good job, but no one would claim him off waivers), Mortensen, Marlon Byrd, Mauro Gomez (at 3rd). Bum after bum after bum. No help was coming. No help came at the trading deadline. Through it all they told us that they liked the pitching and that they expected to go on a run. It was bull s***. They did nothing to reinforce the team, because they had thrown in the towel early. They just did not expect that the y would embarrass themselves so badly so quickly.

To top things off the FO went through a phony charade of showing up at Baltimore like they cared. f*** them. f***ing *******s and incompetents. Get rid of this unimaginative understudy Benny the Boob or Bumbling Benny or whatever the f*** you want to call him. He had a nice run as a well paid gopher and puppet for a big franchise, but he is in way over his head.

It's why I never stick up for the FO. Their primary job is to maximize revenue above all else. They will lie to the fans and players and themselves to keep the money rolling in. f*** them. If we lose, I blame them. If we win, they make a ton of money so they don't need our gratitude. I will give them credit when they do their jobs and put a good product on the field. That has not happened in the last 3 years, and I don't expect that to change next season.

Yankees- RedSox in the middle of August and I went to a restaurant with my wife for dinner. I can't remember the last time that I voluntarily missed a Red Sox - Yankees game-- that's how bad things have been since last September 1st. We stink. There is no spin and no excuses.

I do agree that the Management of this organization tried to get away with murder this year. Figuring they would make it into at least the one game play in....maybe make it past that based on the ever popular...anything can happen logic and then if they lost in the first round declare the season a success.

Funny thing is that most would have bought that hook, line and sinker without recognizing that a team constructing to barely compete in the regular season is wholly unqualified for post season play.

Catching fire or getting hot if you will like the Cards did takes way more team than the Sox were fielding this year...another situation people insisted was analogous that was never analogous.

I am so disheartened by what this franchise is allowed to get away with because they likely really don't have a reason to change. They will just spin another tale and we will buy into it in enough numbers to make the whole damn thing work for them.

This last episode of disgusting lies and skullduggery tells me that they have no conscience whatsoever and will continue to sheer us as long as we act like sheep.

I hope they feel the hurt in their pocket books, because that is the best incentive for them to take action. Unfortunately, they may not feel the financial pain until next season.

There TV and Radio revenue will take a hit next year as it will be based on this year's results. I am sure that viewership is down...just based on participation here.

The word is that season ticket holders cannot unload their tickets for anything and in this economy I suspect that is also going to impact season ticket sales next year. While they have not as yet killed the golden goose I think they have finally plucked it bare....at least I hope so.

Bricks have been cut to half price if anybody cares. Probably the only people that care were those that bought them for $150.00 each. They are now $75.00 each and I suspect they won't sell at that price either. Hope the price sinks like a rock.

Irrational? He's the biggest douche bag in baseball.

Is it just me, or is the name "Nick Swisher" a douchey name to begin with? This isn't Yankee-hater bias, either, I thought the same thing when he was with Oakland. I feel like Nick Swisher just sounds like a guy you want to punch in the face with a knife.

Hey Pal' date=' how much longer do I have for this POS sig?!?[/quote']

I have no idea

You can take it down whenever. It just amuses me when you complain about Aviles, and the sig is staring right at you. :harhar:

How did you even earn that sig?

In the 7th inning of a game a few weeks ago, I jokingly said that Aviles would hit a walkoff. SFF made a sig bet, and it didn't go so well for him heh.

LOL at the crying on this board over the last couple of months. There is no hope for the Red Sox this season. The Yankees have this locked down. Smooth sailing to the AL East title this year. It's great to be a Yankee fan.

Yeah, with CC going in for Tommy John, and Andy Pettite retiring for real this time, it'll be a fun ALDS getting beaten down by the Angels.

Like you wouldn't be upset if the Yankees performed like the Red Sox do stfu. Yeah here's to another year of the Rangers smacking the living s*** out of the Yankees. Go f*** yourself troll.

I would say something about how stupid you are, or maybe go the obvious route and insult the Yankees, but I'm afraid if I say anything unkind toward you, your mother might bite down in anger and castrate me. Not only would it ruin my plans to ejaculate directly in her eye, the resulting mess might kill the mood for the next thirty or forty guys.

I would say something about how all of you are miserable f***s but you know that already. You will rationalize everything. You can't win the wild card this year so you'll say that Texas will have our number. Then after we beat the f*** out of Texas then you'll say that the NL champs will beat us. f*** off.

Admin, you can ban me now. f***ing losers in here. I will continue to lurk here from time to time to get a good laugh out of reading the threads from all of you miserable f***s.

Hahahahhahahahahhahhaa. Boston idiots.
