Good move V...can't give them a run here....I suppose I should wait to see who comes in before saying that....but Frank has gotten everything up in the zone to often tonight and now almost every pitch is up...forced V's hand.

clearly trying to induce the ground ball DP

Only problem here is that Mort is so afraid of getting the ball up at all....with good reason. May just end up walking Martin

God damn it...that was a very good piece of hitting...but if you are going to be that transparent about what you are going to throw...just have to keep being perfect with it. That was not a perfect pitch...good but not perfect and hittable if you know its coming.

Sox pitchers awful single minded about what they are throwing tonight...to a fault.

At 0-2 he could have mixed in a FB off the plate if he wanted to and at least that would have put some doubt in the hitters mind.

I don't think I saw Mort shake anything off...so Salty is likely calling the game this way as well.

I was thinking after the four runs that the Sox were actually gonna put up a fight. Old patterns of thinking don't change easily.

Mort just does not have much going for him....All he can do is try to be perfectly fine...something like Cook only worse.

swisher again, I knew when he came up to bat he was gonna do that. The general rule of thumb for this season is that if a guy is a GIANT douchebag and barely ever goes yard, you can expect him to do it multiple times in a game now.

What an interesting game. 5 homers by the Yankees' date=' all solo shots[/quote']

Yeah thats never a good sign for the Sox when that happens. :(

Gonzalez supposed to hit HRs remember?

i dont think Gonzo has ever hit a HR or a RBI to tie the game... well maybe in that 1 game against the Orioles where Lin was playing RF

Always knew this lineup would miss any combination of two of WMB, Pedey and Ortiz more than it would miss Ells and CC. Ross only makes a dif against LH pitchers. Agons had his little mini-power run there but they are not even pitching around him and he has not been able to drive the ball out very often. Is hitting to all fields again and does not exhibit any vulnerabilities inside or outside but still has not really exhibited any significant power hitting. Salty is well....Salty. Pedey is about all there is at this point.

Salty appears to be looking for 88mph pitches down and in. Not 87, not 89, 88mph pitches down and in. He will always swing as if the ball is down and in. I am not sure why anyone pitches his down and in
