My point is why not let Kalish play the rest of the year?.If he doesn't improve then we have a good idea he isn't a long term solution.

Because although they both suck. Pods has better numbers this season. Kalish needs to go back to AAA and learn how to hit better. I just don't know if your going to learn how to hit in the Majors.

#1 - Kalish will be back when they expand the roster at the end of the month

 

#2 - My guess is Posednick wasn't brought back to take Kalish's spot, he was brought back to take Crawford's spot... This might be a sign that the FO actually is facing reality. This team is not making the playoffs. If its true that Crawford needs TJ surgery, he/they may opt to have the surgery sooner than later to have him back for 2013.

Posednick has a hot wife, but he has limitations. He would be playing somewhere otherwise. There are bad teams that could use him, but if you look at contenders like Cincinnati who need help at the top of their order, I have to question his value.

 

The guy is just not attractive to major league teams.

He had a good 50AB run in Boston, but he sucked in the minors this yr. this is a dumb move. The sox are 7 out with 45 to go. Kalish needs time to sink or swim

Haha! I shouldn't post after hanging out at my favorite pub. I simply meant to say Podsednick has no value. The Red Sox should have kept Kalish in the majors.

Posednik is a quality player. He just doesn't hit for power. He can hit, has speed, and plays good defense.
