Funny....early in the season McClure looked like somebody had nailed him to the bench...hardly ever came out to say or do anything. Lately he has been wearing a path.

Oh wait....he is trying to give Ace time so that we can be treated to another of his appearances.

Actually I was OK with Ace earlier this year as I thought he was adapting to the role but looking at his body of work so far this season has really sort of turned me the other way. Did not like the appearance where he chased AGons and McClure from the mound and did not at all like what he did last night.

Clearly the Twins are headed to the AL Championship...No...they are not....Geez you would have thought so.

The Red Sox can't win a game to save their lives lately.

Meanwhile, the O's are about to be 21-6 in 1 run games this year if they hold on.

Absolutely pathetic.

The Red Sox should start playing for a top 5 draft pick, check out what teams would want its players in waiver wire trades and just look forward to the future.

There it is....this is the jumping off point....I feel it...I see a 10 - 10 run coming in the next 20. Exciting isn't it?

And yes everybody who has repeated it is correct...the starting pitching is far an away the thing that has buried this team more than anything else from a team performance perspective.

Oh s***' date=' 6-4.[/quote']The Red Sox need to score more than 4 runs to have a decent chance at winning. It doesn't matter who is pitching for us or what team they are playing.

My point was that they were blowing another lead in the ninth.

That's why it shouldn't all be on Bobby. This pitching coach is bad. He needs to be the one who gets fired.

Sorta' funny how that magic 5 number works out huh? Going into the 9th up 6-1. Bing-bang-boom, just like that its 6-4. Had they only scored 4 it would have been tied...Sox likely done squat in their end of the 9th and off to another extra innings lost game.

They are going to have to score a lot more than 5 to have a reasonable chance of beating this Rangers squad that's about to come to town.

A few years ago, I remember a game with the Rangers where the Red Sox had a 9-0 type of lead after the 1st inning. Then the rangers chipped away at the lead over the middle innings and even took the lead at one point in the later innings. The Red Sox ended up winning the game 15-14 or something close to that.

Hard to believe that the Rangers pitching has come so far. They always had terrible pitching. Then 2 years ago everything fell into place with the pitching and they made it all the way to the world series.

It hardly matters against the Rangers, not with this bunch. It might boil down to how many innings it actual remains a game.

It was 10-0 after one. That was the game Charlie Zink started. The final score was 19-17, the Sox got a late HR over the monster from Youk to win it.

Interesting how we're still trashing in a game thread on the day they won.

Yeah that's the game. Typical of the Rangers/Red Sox games of the last few years with a lot of offense. Rangers have had the upper hand last few seasons since their pitching has been much more consistent.

Not to mention their lineup is full of above average hitters and Red Sox killers Napoli, Cruz, Kinsler, and Hamilton.

The cascades of boos are getting more frequent although you can tell folks are looking at each other in stands looking for support as opposed to just launching right in. Surprised there are enough real baseball fans in those seats to have a clue.

This series might open the flood gates as they may easily find themselves looking up right from the 1st or 2nd inning with things like Rangers score 4, Sox come up in their half and record three outs in 10 pitches. A few of those might just about do it.

Things will get ugly if they drop this series. I hope the ownership group will be present for this series. They always seem to be there when the Yankees are in town. This Rangers team has been to the World Series for 2 straight years and is the class of the American League right now. They are a perfect example of what the Red Sox organization once was. Perhaps a beat down on the field and in the stands will tell them how the fans really feel about their recent performance and their indifferent perception with the product on the field.

Well, just think. Tonight it's Yu Darvish against the inconsistent Aaron Cook. Then it's Dempster against Lester, and on Wednesday Matt Harrison against Beckett. You may be right.
