But, I would hope you could see what I was getting at...there's probably been hundreds? Of guys who's minor league numbers weren't "amazing" that had good to better than good MLB careers ....

It doesn't happen often. If you don't perform in the minors, you have almost zero shot of making the majors. BTW, Derek Jeter was promoted to all minor league levels at the age of 20, squashing all competition and was in the majors at 21. No comparison.

Pitchers are good enough that they can throw their change ups for strikes in any count at any slot in the lineup. Middlebrooks needs to work on them anyway. He needs to be able to sit on it if he's going to be successful.
