OK folks, off to walk the hound dog.

Enjoy the game.

Well, I gotta get up early. The Sox might pull one of their all too frequent come from behind late inning comebacks but....

I'm pretty effin' sure they won't.

You all know how this movie ends, nite all.

Two of the most refreshing posts of the evening. The GT will no longer be polluted with crappy posts!

I must correct myself. Gonzo has a full 4 days to drink mommy's soup and recover from this killer flu or shits or whatever the f*** he has. He can go f*** himself.

Or you could? :dunno:;)

You are way off base on this one bro. Love ya and all.

It's the worst Red Sox team that I have seen fielded against the Yankees in 45 years. There's no doubt about that. AGon was the only star on the field' date=' despite his under performance, but he got the Hershey squirts and had to sit. What has been on the field since he left is a total embarrassment. And let me tell you something, in 45 years, there have been lots of injuries. This collection of misfits, retreads and bums is not fully the result of injuries.[/quote']

You must not watch very closely this year and even less closely in the past "45 years"

Players not in the lineup due to injury or illness:

Pedroia, Gonzalez, Ellsbury, Crawford, Middlebrooks

How are they all out? Injuries. And Punto is 2 for 2 in Gonzalez's place so gtfo out of here with the hate there

Well it looks like there is little doubt that we are going to lose 3 out 4 here after losing 5 out of 7 on that west coast swing. Worse than that I cannot point at anything with reasonable expectation that it will spell a turnaround.

I don't care who is coming off the DL when the starting pitching is this bad and I have no reason to believe it will get better from a practical perspective. Have said for weeks that our starting pitching was much worse than the numbers generated from playing teams with no offense suggested. We had this stretch coming against teams that actually had some offense and thought that would leave our starting pitching with its pants around its ankles. Did not think it would be so evident just in the very first of these series.

Anyway they are going to be left contesting for this year's gimmick of a WC system for whatever that is worth. It is a total crapshoot and not worthy of a team with their player payroll. It is what it is. Not at all convinced they will even make it into the 1 game WC play-in. Angels and Rays seem to have the inside track on that.

He's overweight without a doubt, he's 6'2 and weights 225 lbs. That makes his Body Mass Index 28.9. Once you hit 30 or above you're considered obese.

Once AGon took himself out of the game and Punto took his spot that he took Big Papi's bat out of the game in any situation where he could beat them. If AGon trudged himself to the plate and just took until he walked or k'd, the Yankees wouldn't know that he was sick. They would give him the respect of a star player with an 18 game hitting streak and Papi might actually see a pitch. Unless he ends up in the hospital tonight, he can go f*** himself. Just coming out on deck three more times would have helped his team. Is kneeling, life threatening with the flu or the shits?

There's no depth in the organization. That's the problem. We don't have another third base man in the entire organization that can field without embarrassing himself. Putting Gomez there is embarrassing. WTF aren't Ellsbury and Crawford playing in this series. They are healthy. They need weeks to round into shape? f*** that. They don't give a s***. That's the problem.

Thanks for chiming in. Now chime out. BMI takes into consideration muscle mass vs. fat. Muscle weighs more than fat FYI. He simply cannot run.

BTW, you gtfo. I have been to more games in person than you have watched on TV unless you are pretty old, so don't tell me how to be a fan. I was there cheering them on last night, and I would have been there tonight cheering them on except my son couldn't get off from work tomorrow. But don't tell me that I have to like the me-first attitude that the f***ing prima donas have been demonstrating on this team since last September. Attitude has been a big problem on this team. It's no secret, but of course AGon said that last year's collapse was part of God's plan. He can GTFO with that s***.

EVERY team ALWAYS makes players do rehab assignments. If they didn't think it was a good idea then they wouldn't do it.

Let me tell you your problem. You WANT Ellsbury, Crawford, Gonzalez, etc to not give a f*** just so you can be the guy that said I told you so. But you're opinions have no basis and you are just the eternal pessimist. Its a real sad way to watch baseball.

And there IS depth in this organization. At one point their entire starting OF was out, yet Ross, Nava, Posednick all were putting up numbers better than the vast majority of OFs in the majors. And the reason they have to put a guy like Gomez at 3B is because WMB is not on the DL thus they don't have the roster spot.

.

Only since players have become pampered wusses. That is just a fact. There is no reason they need 2 weeks of AB, and their legs should be in shape. They have had nothing to do for 2 months. Lance Berkmann had knee surgery. He has been cleared for baseball activity. He is expected to start his rehab on Wed. His legs need to get in game shape. Plus, he is 36 years old. I am interested to see if he needs as many ABs as our guys in rehab games. Our guys have played in games at every level on this rehab. Necessary? I don't think so, but that is my opinion.

You don't know me so don't characterize. Okay? Have I insulted you in this exchange? Back off with the personal s***. If you don't like my opinions about the Red Sox, fine, but don't attack me.

I do though, or at least the THOUSANDS of posts I have read over the past 5 YEARS of my life. If you haven't accurately portrayed your views regarding this team in those selections then my apologies. But you and a group of posters have made this board extremely unenjoyable to read lately and it makes discussion pointless when there is a ring of people who are constantly harping on the same straw man opinions.

If you say Ellsbury and Crawford don't give a f***, that is a baseless opinion unless you know them personally. Otherwise I'd have to assume a professional baseball player whose job is to play baseball does in fact give a f*** about baseball.

This kid Ciriaco has to stick. He does everything right, and he is spectacular at many things. I am still impressed with the execution of his bunt yesterday. That was one of the best bunts I have seen from a Red Sox player in year. Let him push all the prima donas. Let the press gather around his locker and ignore all the malcontents who think they owe no one anything.
