and Ben Cherington is not up to the job of rebuilding this organization. He was Duke's gopher and Theo's apprentice. He's not qualified to do this job. Neither was Hoyer who s*** "l over himself in SD and ran back to hide behind Theo in Chicago.

Bring Andrew Friedman for once and for all no matter at what cost... That move should be the first move next season and a MUST if you ask me.

This, I'd love Friedman.

He was interviewing last season, and he was there for the taking. He's a proven guy doing the job with a very small budget. I'll never understand why they did not scoop him up at the time.

Friedman's biggest strengths, according to those who have worked closely with him, are his ability to listen and incorporate the opinions of others. Something that LL does not.

If the sox hope for a chance at the AL East' date=' they have to win the series. They're down 8 games and they just lost their team leader. A series loss here would be devastating for the sox and would likely put them into sell mode at the break[/quote']

Dude... Gtfo! Youre so lame! 27-THOUSAND posts on a red sox board. How man more posts on X other forums? Time to go outside, bro.

He has 27' date='000 posts and hasn't been banned yet, he's obviously contributed to the site. I don't think his opinion in that post was out of line.[/quote']

SCM said he was banned prior to the 27k.

He's way less annoying than some of the Sox "fans" on here.

Pedro Ciriaco will get the call

Globe Staff July 6, 2012 10:46 AM

By Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff

The Red Sox are expected to activate Pedro Ciriaco for tonight’s game against the Yankees to replace Dustin Pedroia, who will be placed on the disabled list, according to a team source.

Ciriaco, an International League All-Star, was hitting .301 at Pawtucket. He may even get the starting nod at second base, though that will be determined later.

The Red Sox may have a second move because outfielder Scott Podsednik is ready to rejoin the team after a rehab stint. That would require moving one of Boston’s outfielders. Ryan Kalish can be sent down and Brent Lillibridge hasn’t been used much.

The Red Sox will have to make a 40-man roster move for Ciriaco.

Pedroia reinjured his right thumb in a different area from the injury that caused a tear on the inner half of his thumb near his palm on May 28. He missed six games with that injury, but hit only .210 with seven extra base hits and 105 at-bats after that.

The Sox are also expected to see the return of Will Middlebrooks this weekend, but not today.

I'll be glad to get Pods back in place of Iron Glove Kalish. Pods is a solid professional, who gets on base. He has good speed and he's a good fielder. Plus, there is the added benefit that he gives VA the vapors.;)

I've been trying to come up with a good nick name for him. Lately I've been calling him KalishnaKlank

Wow what the hell..... I don't get what was so wrong with what he said. And bashing someone for how ever many posts they have? Really...

None the less huge game tonight. Let's get the win anyway we can Sox. It's been a while since I've had that sick feeling in my stomach before a baseball game. Those damn Yanks bring that feeling every time we play them.

God damnit. I would rather have Ciriaco in there ahead of Punto at second. I hate this lineup, at least it would have been fun to watch Ciriaco make his Red Sox debut. Punto sucks. Gomez at 3B is going to come back to bite us in the ass. At least Lillibridge isn't in the lineup too. Ortiz, Ross, Gonzo, Salty, Nava, and Aviles all need to come up big today.

I'm going to be missing this one. But' date=' that maybe for the good. I have a bad feeling about this game and series. I hope I am wrong.[/quote']

I hope you are wrong about that too. I just wish Ciriaco was given a chance at 2B today over Punto. Punto is worthless. Ciriaco would actually be a step up in my opinion. Let's take it one game at a time. Let's get the W today.

Guess I just don't like yanks. Sorry for getting personal, Jackso.

Anyway, lineup is scary. I hope Gonzalez keeps the streak alive butc turns up the power.

So lets see: we have three guys that belong in Pawtucket, a guy who doesn't belong in ML baseball, an underachieving bum, a guy whose stats have dropped off a cliff.........plus Ross, Ortiz, and Salty.

Imposing lineup for any pitcher

Fixed for MVP.

Sox have a tendancy to play down to their weaker opponents. Beckett will be on point tonight. Sox win 3 of 4.

Sox only going with 8 tonight?

Survey results from BDC: only 20% of the fans think that the Red Sox will win more than 2 games this weekend. 37% say its Yankees 3-1; 31% say its going to be a split.

Sad times.

When are we going to DFA punto? can we get a real utility player ?

That is why we got Lillibridge. haha, that is a joke. Can we trade Lillibridge and Punto for some pine tar and some broken bats? The incentive that will get the deal done is that we will ship them and all their belongings in a garbage truck.
