Hey Y'all,

I have a big research project due Wednesday the 11th. My topic is, of course, the Red Sox.

I am in school to be an elementary teacher so the project is a little cheesey, but I deff. need some detailed info/input.

What is due is a multi-genre research project, for a reading/writing class. Here are my following genres I will be using:

1) Letter

2) Poem

3) Newspaper Article

4) Biographical Essay

5) Speech

6) Art

7) Brochure or Travel Ad

8) Recipe

9) Timeline

I have type and make these myself. Im going back and forth on doing the Sox as a whole or the 2004 World Series team. What would y'all do? That choice will determine what exact info I will need.

Thanks!

Do exactly the opposite of whatever Jacko says to do. He is a Yankees fan. :D

There's probably a lot more material for the Sox as a whole. There have been plenty of sports documentaries on the team that could provide some resource material.

I'm curious what the recipe portion of your assignment will consist of. A perfectly prepared Fenway Frank? :D

Good Luck

Maybe a good Josh Beckett fried chicken recipe. And good home brewed beer.

Im open to anything for a recipe. Didn't know if I should do something about Fenway's food or if I should do a recipe of the 2004 team that made it a WS champ.

I would go with the Italian sausages they sell outside the park. Those things are legendary and very much a part of the Fenway atmosphere.

the fact that you think it is cheesy offends me, you dont know how much the fans have taken from the stinking yankees year after year when we cant pull that win and if we do we couldnt get it done until 2004 so unless you take it right back you aint getting anything from me.. no pun intended.

 welcome to talksox

I wasn't saying the Sox or the research was cheesy, but having to make travel ads, poems, etc is cheesy lol.

Can't complain to much because I'd much rather do this than another 20 page plus paper.

ahh my bad... well if you havent watched fever pitch i would say start with that. its extreme but will give you a decent idea.

watch the faith rewarded series here on youtube

I loved when Schilling says "Why not us"

2004 brings back memories and they are still fresh. and if you are trolling i am going to lay a curse on you.. for making me emotional again.. just joking

I'd do the inferiority complex and how it has changed to an entitlement complex after 04 and 07

Or he could just do a report on how to spend billions of dollars to buy aprox. half of your championships...... Or even better , do a paper about the greatest choke/collapse of all time when the sox were down 3-0/9th inning.......I think we know the rest

Whoa! If it is due in six days, you better get going on it. I am a retired secondary teacher, so I don't know a lot about elementary school kids. I am guessing all nine genres have to be on one grade level. Do these genres have to be nine different lessons or projects the students are to create?

Spitball,

Glad to see someone who knows where I am coming from.

Since this is summer semester and the class is only 6 weeks long the instructor is taking it easy on us. We don't have to do a grade level or any standards

We are just making the stuff up to present to the class. Not tough guidelines or a tough project, just time consuming.
