Based on the fact that Felix can not pitch every game, Uncle Bud invokes his newly invented "fairness clause" which gives him the right to insist that the the Sox play Lilibridge. Bud will also insist that dmac get at least one at bat as a rally crusher.

Have a feeling we'll have a Lilibridge sighting in the lineup....gross.

No way man. Erasmo Ramirez is a RHP, and Cody Ross just hit a mammoth bomb last night.

The OF will be Nava - Kalish - Ross, LF to RF.

Lineup will likely be Nava - Pedroia - Ortiz - Salty - Gonzo - Middlebrooks - Ross - Kalish - Aviles. Just like last night, and why not? They went deep 4 times and won 5-0. Scoring 5 runs at Safeco is not an easy task.

By the way, no other team had gone yard THREE times in a game at Safeco this year. The Sox went deep FOUR times!

Here's a question.

As it is lined up right now, the Red Sox will go Cook - Beckett - Doubront - DiceK in the 4 game set against the Yankees. But....

Morales is scheduled to throw against the A's on Wednesday. Cook could throw on normal rest on Wednesday against the A's, and then let Morales throw on Friday against the Yankees. Wouldn't this seem to be a better option? Wonder if V would think about that.

Mariners are an embarrassment...dimensions of safeco are an embarrassment (M's management currently looking at Safeco blueprints to determine how much farther back they can put the fences) and their pitching should give up the required number of mistake pitches to insure another M's debacle/Sox win.

I do expect that their coaches and manager will point out that they were hackin' from the dugout last night forcing a bit more patience out of them....probably won't matter. More important than their inability to hit is their inability to pitch.....at all outside of felix.

If anything Ramirez has been worse than Noesi but will likely be forced to stay out there tonight serving up all manner of hittable pitches to the Sox lineup. While 17 runs is excessive, double digits would not be a complete surprise even at Safeco depending on how the Sox approach their plate appearances.

I suppose this could be the night that Ramirez has a reversal but I doubt it. He has been worse in June than in May (hard to believe) and has given up 27 hits and 7 walks in 28 innings pitched. "Hang on to your M's stuff as memorabilia kid"....might not have another shot at it."

It think they're gonna get shut down again. Bullpen is fresh so Beckett can go as long as he needs. No problem with him not getting past 80-85 today, Padilla and Ace need some work anyway.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

HELL YEAH!! Send that douche back to the COLORADO.

Yankees are cranking homers all over the White Sox right now.

At least they still lose the series even with a win.

Posted in the Franklin Morales thread:

Morales next start is against Oakland vs. Griffin (0-0) but the next day the Sox play the Yanks and Cook is scheduled vs. Kuroda (7-7).

I think, hope, that Bobby V swaps those two. I know it'd be one day sooner than Cook expected but he worked so efficiently I think he'd be able to go on 1-day less rest. That way Morales gets to start against the Yanks, which gives the Sox are better chance at taking game one of the series.

Anyone think this, too?

I totally agree w/you & think Bobby V should do it & he might, he's no Francona.

Cook doesn't get swing and misses and Morales does. Cook loves the groundball and fly outs. Yankees might make all of those flyballs HRs. Yanks do score 52+% of their runs on the long ball. I like a strikeout guy like Morales than a contact guy like Cook.

I actually think Gonzo got caught out by how quickly that ball was coming at him. If you look at the way Gonzo moved after the ball, he looked like a guy that thought he had it easy that suddenly did not have it at all.

Nice racism.

I thought Granderson's 2011 was a fluke, and even though it's a cliche'd thing to say, that ballpark is absolutely made for his swing.

On the bright side, Jeter is about to drop below .300

Umm...what? He's from the suburbs of Colorado. I'd love to hear an explanation for this that isn't a race thing.
I don't know if it was a racist remark, but it was certainly inaccurate. I read that his father's side of the family is drunken Irish and his mom's side of the family are cheap jews.;)

Just read a tweet from Darnell McDonald -

Dream come true to play in Boston want to wish my boys good luck the rest of the year! Much love to RSN! ‪#ShowGoesOn‬

Looks like he's been DFA'd.

I wonder if NESN has signed his daughter for the remainder of the season to do player interviews?

DMac probably passes thru waivers and gets reassigned to Pawtucket. We have probably not seen the last of him.

I would wonder who would really want dmac myself....to do what...play the occasional inning in defense?

Seemed like a good guy. Best of luck to him...

Very good idea. Morales might need that rest too after throwing like 105 pitches for the first time. Hopefully V picks you up.

Kind of hard to hate him now after saying those nice things. It's not like he's a prick like Lackey is.

I would love to see her giving passive-aggressive interviews to the Red Sox management.
