Nine K's in 4.2 innings. Wow. Not totally unexpected' date=' but certainly welcome. This guy deserves a chance to become a SP next year.[/quote']

I'll admit I didn't expect it. Anyone who says they expected him to do this well is full of crap.

MacDime will make up for both runs he allow.

By telling BV that he is injured and cannot go back on the field??? :harhar:

Extremely impressive outing....let him go 6.

No way. Ease him into this role. He could be here all year if he throws strikes.

Oh' date=' I can read. I can quote as well. Reading through that makes me think you are suicidal.[/quote']

Nice to see that you enjoy my posts so much that you feel they deserve to be posted twice. I am not going to repost all of your posts where you say the team sucks or that Beckett sucks or whatever. I am simply not going to get into this with you, ever. Made that mistake once, but I won't make it again. If you do not like my posts, why not put me on ignore? Otherwise, lets just keep the discussion about baseball, both the good and the bad eh? Have a nice day.

Hes only at 78 I believe. Let him start the inning.....he just hit 96 and is throwing strike after strike. No signs of tiring.

Until its July.

2 weeks until July. 13 games.

So what if the Sox go 10-3 in their next 13? They'll be 44-37 or 43-36. Which is why it's silly to count them out based on 1 game in June.

He has pitched very well lately, sometimes in long relief. He has the stuff to do well. Had a rough patch, but seems to have overcome it.

Regardless of what SCM says, Maholm does stink. We should have at least six runs against him already.

I would not allow Morales to get into any kind of a jam but he deserved the chance to pitch that inning. Besides I hate seeing guys pulled when they are actually pitching well anyway. It was not a sure bet that the pitcher coming in would have pitched better than Morales. So if Morales was struggling, all things being equal even though I would have wanted him to have the chance, I would likely have been forced to pull him. But Morales was not struggling, had gotten the Sox to the point where they were up a run and looked like he was as good a bet if not a better bet to give the Sox what they needed that inning.

Aviles would be an excellent bench guy....the law of averages (and lack of OB skills) have caught up with him it appears.

Besides, he started the inning with a guy hitting .100 followed by one hitting .043, more good reasons to rest the pen a little more. He did a good job.

Freaking impressed by Morales, even given the weak lineup he's facing. That was a heck of a spot start by him.

I certainly did not expect Morales to have such a terrific outing. I hope I did not give folks the impression that I was coming off like I expect it. I am tickled that he has done such a good job but I can't say that I had expectations one way or the other.

Lame, people. It's an error. Errors happen. Instead of freaking out, just count on the pitcher to work around it.
