All well and good but he can't pitch this season and I would rather he keep his mouth and his ideas about how pitchers interact with their manager and players to himself since he can't go out there and get us one out, one inning or one win this year.

Remember this is Mr. Glare at everybody and his brother, apologize for it the next and do exactly the same thing one day later. Rather catch his act again when he can actually throw a baseball.

Maybe he is trying to show he is a better team player. Idk

Nick Punto had 2 hits in 25 games.

Now he has 2 in 1 inning.

As a pinch hitter. Stat geeks: when was the last time that happened. Had to be a long long time ago.

Really thought the Sox had a chance to chase Nolasco. If he had controlled us for 5-7 innings I would have gone into the back yard, dug a hole, thrown myself in and covered myself with the dirt.

In all fairness, he did have a three game hitting streak in early June.

We are playing match ups in an 8 run game.

I repeat.

Nope. Miller just needs some work.

Then why didn't he start the inning?

Not sure. Padilla was already warm. Maybe V figured that since he was warm why not bring him in for one hitter. I don't really know. Off day tomorrow. Some of the guys in the pen do need some work.

I would not have brought Padilla in to pitch to one guy with an eight run lead either. It really does not make any sense. It takes an effort to get warm, get ready and come in. They would have done better just resting Padilla for the night and pitching Miller.

Getting guys up night after night is what tires out bullpens. They are better off going for a bit in a game and then resting a bit.

That's what I thought. Before last night, Padilla hadn't pitched for 6 days. If they're warm, make it worth their while.

He had already warmed up. Maybe V wanted him to get in for one hitter because he needed a shower sooner rather than later. I did see V on the phone and on the other end, in the pen, some of the pitchers were isolating Padilla like a germ who has caught penicillin.

Holy s***.....NESN announce team bickering like a bunch of old hens! Using up all their big lead material I guess.

Padilla was pretty funny though. Obviously gesturing to somebody about V taking him out like that. I am sure Vicente did not know the camera was on him.

My best friend is attending the game (He went to Miami for the Pink Floyd's concert) , he says that the stadium is spectacular.

Hopefully this is the begining of a great streak.

Is Pink Floyd performing at the Clevelander tonite?

For the record, I am told that the last time a pinch hitter had two hits in one inning was 42 years ago when Vic Davilillo did it.
