I think it is fairly obvious that Dice is on his way back on Saturday. They limited him to 40 pitches yesterday for a reason. I wouldnt read into the stats in the minors as rehab stats are always deceiving. I didnt get any SRs on his stuff, though. Over the last few seasons, Dice has seen his FB velo slip into the high 80s, low 90s, while in his best seasons with Boston, he was in the low to mid 90s. If he can regain his cheese, you might get some serviceable starts and he might even slot in as a middle of the rotation pitcher.

40 pitches in 1.1 innings of triple AAA? Not great. Obviously they NEED him for Bard this week end so he is "ready"....ready or not, here he comes.

I go to school right near DC and i can say they might have gotten a lucky draw with the nats, because they cant hit for anything. I have been to 8 nats games so far this summer and the highest run total they scored was 5 with an average of 1 or 2 a game lol.

 

As long as Dice-k just hits the strike zone should have a chance to go 5-6 innings

I go to school near DC too! Not there for the summer though, but I'd be doing the exact same thing. Hoping they make the playoffs so I can go.

 

On topic, Dice-K shouldn't be worse than Bard has been lately, so I'm looking forward to it.
