Next starts for Doubront (6-2) until ASB:

vs WAS (.678 OPS vs LHP)

@ MIA (.695 OPS vs LHP)

vs MIA (.695 OPS vs LHP)

vs TOR (.716 OPS vs LHP)

@ SEA (.660 OPS vs LHP)

vs NYY (.790 OPS vs LHP)

Could Doubront possibly be a 10 game winner by the ASB??

A win tomorrow would be gravy. Lets do it.

It's a nice feeling, isn't it? Win the first two, and you're playing with house money in game 3.

Just watched a highlight of the Punto HR. Dang! When Nicky Punto can stand in the batter's box and admire his shot leaving the yard, the pitcher had probably better retire. :)

My memory is a bit fuzzy.
If he was able to insert a probe in your anus during beer pong, I don't think I am going out on a limb thinking you really didn't win.

We won despite me. I made 1 shot in the first game.

It's always good to be on a good team.

Also, the probe is bound to fall out of your ass at some point, so don't worry about it.

It never came out of Bill Lee's ass. That's for damn sure.

Yeah. How did Cartman get rid of his anal proble?

 He used to call Don Zimmer "the Gerbil."

I always can't help myself but to laugh whenever I see that video of Pedro putting that moron on his fat ass.

Me too! Classic.

And even funnier is people putting Pedro at fault for it as if he has any other options.

I know. I was at my brother's place for that game and my sister-in-law was appalled at Pedro, "Look what he did to that old man?" My brother and I couldn't stop laughing!

Yeah, he got choked up. He was actually apologizing for his actions.

God I hate the Yankees.

It's a must of us Sox fans. I guess you were probably around 7 when that happened so wouldn't exactly remember. Youngin' :D

Here's a story about the Zimmer -Pedro incident that will prove that i am a very intense fan. In August of 2004, my company brought this lady in from a big bank to head my section of the Law Department. She had a meeting with me and 3 others who would be her direct reports. At the end of the meeting baseball came up and someone mentioned that I was a Red Sox fan. The new boss then told me that she grew up in the Bronx and that she was a very big Yankee fan. I told her that I could live with that, but I would always be a Sox fan. With that she asked me how I felt about what Pedro did to poor Don Zimmer. I thought for a moment and then I told her that normally I would be very opposed to the abuse of the elderly, but in this case Zimmer had that and more coming to him since 1978 when he buried Bill lee in the pen and pitched Bob Sprowl against the Yankees. She looked at me and laughed and said, "why don't you tell me how you really feel." We never had a problem. Only a sick fan would risk offending a new boss in that way.

Great story! But you don't need to prove that you're a very intense fan, fred;)

No I had some catching up to do on the history when I first got into baseball. I'm like a rock now, though. I probably know more than what's healthy.

Seriously. You're in a pennant race and you bury a guy like lee for personal reasons? Freaking jackass.

I get the feeling that my insides would jump out of my body and beat my ass if I had one drop of booze tonight. I'm just going to chill and watch baseball.

There's another part to that Lee-Sprowl story. The team enlisted Yaz to go to Zimmer and plead with him to start Lee instead of Sprowl. Zimmer pulled a bunch of clippings out of his desk with stories about Lee calling him a gerbil, and refused to change his mind.

I think Zimmer was also quoted as saying 'the kid's got ice water in his veins' about Sprowl.
