And we're 3.5 games out of first. Funny old game ain't it? :D

Honestly, I am not worried about our record right now. Its the pitching and how that is doing, and I am seeing signs that it is improving on all fronts and becoming more competitive. Now we need to see some consistency with the starting pitching....and Pedroia cannot be lost for a long period of time.

Huge win beating Verlander. Bard actually looked good tonight.

That game surely surpassed my expectations!! Keep it going! Beating DV is huge.

I don't know if Detroit will stay vulnerable like this all year but this is a good time to catch them.

When JV gave up that first really bad breaking ball to Youk in his first at bat I thought "Oh well JV has had his one really really bad mistake pitch for the night". But he really made terrible breaking ball pitches tonight...some of the worst breaking balls I have ever seen him throw and all strung together on one night.

But that was a great at bat by Nava cause he worked him to that pitch and then beat him. Granted it was up in the strike zone but Nava still handled it in a really big spot. Terrific win....Tigers should be good and depressed for tomorrow.

The way these last series have been working out, the bottom of our rotation has pitched well early in series and have showed the other starters what they have to do to beat the team they are playing. But then the "supposed big guns" in our rotation have gone out there and often left the most ungodly turds out on the mound. Lester needs to come out and not stink the joint up right from jump street.

At least give Beckett the credit he's due but Lester does indeed need to figure things the f*** out.

I just hope Pedroia isn't out very long. That could cause a tailspin.

I know. Keeping my fingers crossed. It'd be tough to handle that blow.

Hmmmm....interesting. I thought V was saying in the post game that there were no torn ligaments or tendons in there.

If Pedroia is out for a month or more, that would be an awful gut punch. Plus, Iglesias is injured in AAA at this time with a bad back. Can Middlebrooks play SS with Aviles sliding to second?

From everything I hear, even if he hits the DL, it's only a 3-4 week stint. Heard Sean McAdam say if he does hit the DL, he will be back in June. I also heard Iglesias should be back in the lineup tonight and would be ready for Boston in a few days.
