Piece of work isn't he? I've been reading that kind of madness from him since I first started posting on a message board in 2007.

I can't believe that stadium was that empty for a first place team. We need a sweep.

That stadium fills up only when Red Sox fans fill it up. Even the Red Sox cannot draw fans like they used to when they are in last place.

Don't know if anyone watched this on MASN, but the announcers were trying to say that Hunter's balk was caused by Byrd calling time-out. Of course, the only motion Byrd made was toward the mound, to call Hunter out on the balk he had just committed.

Also, they call Nava "Nay-va."

On the bright side, the Red Sox won.

Yep. I always have to watch Sox/O's games on MASN. The "Nay-va" thing drove me nuts. The only saving grace was that Jim Palmer was off.

I heard the stuff about Byrd too. They are whiney babies.

The Orioles pitching is coming down to earth. They now rank fourth in the AL in pitching; they were first. Still much better than our pitching overall, but sinking. I never thought that this Orioles team was capable of staying in playoff contention for the entire year. Our competition will be the Yankees and the Rays, as it has been for years.

BTW: where have you been?

I was on vacation outside of the country. When i got back, i had a lot of catching up to do at work, and had just started stronglift 5x5, so not a lot of leisure time other than watching the Sox and NBA playoffs.

The orioles are good they have got a lot of young talent but man I live twenty minutes from Maryland and you see people pulling out the oriole. Apparel like never before I have even caught s*** from them for wearing Boston stuff. I want them to be injured like us see how they do then they were worse then Philly fans the past two years. They think they are kings now or something that's fine they can live in the moment but when it comes crashing down I can't wait to run my mouth to them.

This is basically what everyone was telling YOU when you were saying how good the O's pitching staff was. Don't go changing it around saying you knew they'd come back to earth. Eat your s*** like a man.

More roster moves coming for the Red Sox

Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff May 22, 2012 01:12 PM

BALTIMORE — Bobby Valentine joked after the game last night that he didn't know what his lineup would be today, but he knew it would be different.

Such is life with the ever-changing Red Sox. Because more moves are coming this afternoon.

Kevin Youkilis and Scott Podsednik have arrived in Baltimore from Norfolk, Va., where they were playing for Triple-A Pawtucket.

Youkilis, who has been on the disabled list with a strained lower back, needs only to pass a physical exam to be activated. If Ryan Sweeney goes on the seven-day concussion disabled list, Podsednik could potentially replace him on the roster.

Podsednik, 36, hasn't been in the majors since 2010 when he was with the Dodgers. He has hit .323/.371/.484 in nine games for Pawtucket since being acquired from the Phillies organization.

No word yet on what the corresponding move would be to add Youkilis to the roster. GM Ben Cherington is with the team and sorting through the various options.

Your know last night was the first time I heard a hint of a N.E. accent. I forgot what he said (which isn't hard to do with this guy) but he reminded me of Remy a little.

A Maine accent is slightly different from a Boston accent. Years ago, Yankee magazine did a great story on the differences among NE accents. BTW have you ever had Grapenut Ice Cream? Gary Torne did a great bit on the joys of Grapenut Ice Cream several weeks ago.

All you people in the northeast sound the same. NE' date=' NY, eastern PA.[/quote']

We feel the same about all you people in MN, MI, WI, ND, SD, MT

So do I' date=' but it's more like those, minus Montana, and add on Iowa and Illinois.[/quote']

There was a school teacher and librarian on the train from Bangor to Boston. The school teacher asked the librarian why she was going up to Boston. She answered that she was going to Boston to get schrod. The school teacher replied that was the first time she heard anyone use the pluperfect past subjective of that verb. Just a little bit of "Down East" humor for you.
