A gift from Theo and the Cubs in April....gone in June. You gotta wonder. LOL

We stuck Theo right back with Bowden though.

I liked Josh, but Ryan Sweeney has played really well... and if Bailey is even decent when he comes back it's a great move.

I liked Josh' date=' but Ryan Sweeney has played really well... and if Bailey is even decent when he comes back it's a great move.[/quote']Ryan Sweeney stinks. In less than half a season, Reddick has out homered Sweeney's career homer total over 7 seasons by more than 35%. In 7 seasons, Sweeney has hit 14 HRs (0 in 2012) and Reddick has 19 to this point in 2012.

Good thing HR's aren't the best way to judge a hitter.

It is a measure of power-- a nice thing to have in a lineup. Plus, he is a better hitter than Sweeney besides the HRs. Plus, he is faster and he has a better arm than Sweeney. So, tell me what you like about the trade?

So remember Darnell McDonald? I know it's been a while. He just signed with the Yankees.

Just saw that on his twitter. Let's just say I unfollowed him.

Just read a somewhat amusing footnote on this...McDonald's older brother, Donzell (!) played 5 games for the Yanks in 2001.

Youk with the walk-off single tonight. It seems like the baseball gods are having a yuk on us these days. I won't be surprised if D-Mac goes on a tear against us this weekend.

I suspect that the Yankees signed McDopey to get his daughter to do some segments on YES. She is a very cute kid who did some entertaining player interviews on NESN. Her dad is useless, but the kid has a future.

Are the Red Sox the most generous team in baseball, or what?

I would say so. Let's give Jenks some parting gifts, bucket of Popeyes, beer and iced cream.

Well at least Papelbon is trying to make us feel a little better. Last 5 appearances have been nasty.

2 blown saves. ERA has gone from 2.02 to 3.45.

I don't wish him any bad fortune. He was a great pitcher for us. He was a foul tip away from the save last night, and he lost the game on a bloop to RF. I like the Mets so I was rooting against him last night, but wish him the best. He was the greatest Red Sox closer of them all.

Also, think about this. If he was our closer this season instead of Aceves with his 6 losses and I don't know how many blown saves, we'd be right there challenging the Yanks. The FO decided that Paps wasn't worth it and Instead, we're in last place on July 4th.

An outfielder with no speed or no pop is next to useless. You have to have one or the other in the OF. That's his problem in a nutshell. He is no more than a scrub at the ML level.
