DeWayne Wise is turning into quite the pickup. I think he'll be our starting LFer until Gardy comes back. Long tightened up his swing and he looks like a new player out there

Yanks Old Timers game is today. Just saw Rickey Henderson and Reggie Jackson come out. I wish the Sox had an Old Timers' Game. They used to, apparently. My dad saw Ted Williams get a hit at Fenway because of that. Maybe if all the players weren't slammed on the way out.

We just watched Jason Varitek and Tim Wakefield play from 2008-2011. Wasn't that enough?

Unfortunately, due to a massive misunderstanding and a subsequent fear to tell the two players to leave, they remained on the team for games that actually counted.

Haha, yeah, I know what you meant originally and I agree. I hope in ten or fifteen years we can be treated to an exhibition game with the likes of Varitek, Wake, Mueller, Nomar, et cetera. Hell, Wake probably won't throw the ball much differently than he always has.

Go back even further and get Rice, Eck, Fred Lynn, Dewey, Fisk, etc, that'd be a hot ticket. Surprised they haven't tried it, since they've been expanding promotional stuff so much the last 10 years.

ballpark is a joke. Chavez HR was a popup and it landed in the second deck. And that's not my opinion. That's what Goose Gossage said in the booth.

Chavez' homer went 340-350 feet dead right field. The only park that isnt out of is Fenway
Just telling you what the Goose said. He called it a batting practice popup.

so the laws of physics are bent in Yankee stadium. And Goose is the new Einstein, cmon man. The only area that is a joke is RCF. RF is short in a lot of stadiums, but the Yankees keep RCF short as well. A 350 foot flyball to RCF is an out in all parks except NY.

He said that when the weather is warm in the new place that the balls just go flying out of there. The place is a joke in RF. Chavez got the second deck on a half assed swing.

Their opinions are as valid as yours and mine. The physics doesnt add up that only in Yankee Stadium does the ball travel 340 feet when hit in a single direction on a warm day if a bear shits in the woods and the blue moon get jumped over by a cow. But if it was Citi field, it'd be a 250 foot popup. Cmon man. The homers to RCF, you have a case with since the YS fence is some 40 feet shorter to the gap than most stadiums, but HR's to dead RF you have no case on

Freddy Garcia gives up two near miss flyouts and a deflected line drive in his first inning. Last yr he was all about the luck, I hope it continues, but he better have a short f***ing leash
