I would give you Pence (#3 pick) and Mauer (#7) straight up for Napoli and Papelbon. How does it sound?

Napoli was my #3 pick, so I'd be giving up Papelbon for a 7th rounder. And I'm very wary of Mauer's injury history.

Well, As you said, you have tons of closers regardless Mauer can play 1st as well.

Think about it and let me know.

Pence is good. I don't want to "dump Adrian" but i have three 1B-elegible guys and need to upgrade my OF and possibly C' date=' and he would bring back the most value. The problem is Cespedes is unproven and CJ flat out sucks, i can't expect either of them to bring value now or in the future, and neither can you.[/quote']

Well, think about it and let me know if interested. IMO both Cespedes and Pence will be ok this season.

Sorry man, I'm really not interested in Mauer.

I would consider Ortiz for Price' date=' but I understand that's not great value for you. Ortiz always hits like a 3rd round pick, but for some reason gets picked in the 10th round. Its kind of silly in a league like this one with two utility spots, where he's clearly not going to be clogging a spot like leagues with only one.[/quote']

Yeah that one doesn't do it for me. But hey, if you come up with anything, let me know.

I figured as much. But doesn't it seem kind of silly how undervalued Ortiz is?

This is a guy who doesn't get hurt because he's not playing the field, and he's not stealing bases. He's on a good team with protection, and run production value. He's averaged .385 OBP/ 85 Runs/ 98 RBIs/ 285 TB over the last two years. Find me a guy out of the 3rd/4th round who can guarantee those stats? I understand positional scarcity and lack of steals hurts him, but there are a ton of 1B and OF, and even they can't put up numbers like that past the early rounds.

It's not that i'm not interested in Ortiz, mind you, but rather the fact that i don't think i'd be getting equal value, and i'd need to get rid of one of my Util-type guys in a trade like this one too.

Just a few observations, it seems like you guys think that just because you over paid ( drafted too early )

you expect someone to match that and give away their player. Basically saying, I want you to eat my mistake and make me better. If you want to trade make a reasonable offer, be prepared to counter offer.

When you drafted them, is irrelevent if they're sucking wind.

It is one thing if a player is trying to trade a player that they drafted too high. But if someone is trying to get a player from me that I do not want to trade, they need to trade a player to me for where I value them.

I agree, no one trades away their player for someone they don't care/want. What I'm saying is basing a trade on when they drafted a plyer is ridiculas. It's based on what you think a player is going to do, which is subjective.

But realistically, most of the time, the higher the player was drafted, the better he is. Look at Gonzalez for example. He's as close to a sure bet as you have for elite offensive production.

It's almost impossible for a waiver-wire or late round pickup to have that type of value. That's where draft round comes into play, at least marginally.

My injured players are coming back.... I dropped Ciriaco, dammit! But I needed space.

Very competitive BTW.

No stats are listed for my pitcher Nova. The hitters look up to date' date=' but I can't be sure.[/quote']

Now, The hitters are updated, but pitching stats aren't.

Maybe during the day will be reflected, We'll see.

Thanks Ted.
