CHICAGO — The Red Sox play tonight. But Daisuke Matsuzaka is on the mound for Double A Portland this afternoon at Hadlock Field against Reading.

Matsuzaka has thrown a 1-2-3 first inning, striking out two.

 

UPDATE, 3:06 p.m.: Matsuzaka went 4.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. He threw 74 pitches, 44 strikes and topped out at 93 mph.

Season just ended the results are in that's how we determine results of polls like this. Duh.:thumbdown

Dice-K was never as good as people were saying. Thus he was expected to do more for the Sox then he was capable of doing. Watching him pitch sometimes was very painful. Chalk it up as a mistake and move on.
