I for one see no useful role for these sideline reporters in any sport male or female. For some reason the networks including NESN feel this need to cut away from the game so some sideline reporter can interject some nonsense like what there is to eat at some ball park that I'm never going to visit. I want to watch baseball not eye candy.

The most annoying and useless is Ken Rosenthal on the Fox games.

Rosenthal is a regular on the Hot Stove show on MLB cable. I think he's one of the best pundits in the business. Has a lot of contacts. I think less of Heyman, who is a NY hack (ex Yankees beat writer), but Heyman's stock has risen since he got the story about Hoyer moving to Chicago from the Padres.

There are too many blondes on the sidelines--most of them bleached. The network sports producers have a stilted, condescending view of what the public likes to see. Plus they feel obligated to have a woman in there somewhere.

I actually heard a woman in the booth calling play-by-play in a Big Ten TV game last week on the Big Ten channel!

Would you believe that? She was an older woman who had some sort of coaching experience. That's the kind of woman they should be hiring, not these movie starlets on the sidelines. Put them in the TV booth like the men, calling the games. And keep the number to 2, not 3. 3 guys in the booth talk to each other too much, which detracts from the game.

Other than that he is almost always wrong when he talks about rumors.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Yeah, they are good to look at. That MILF on NFL cable looks eminently doable.

That's why she worked for NESN. A lot of guys want to see that. That's how life works. Nothing wrong with it. Some of our older posters disagree. Didn't know beyond Tek that she was a "home wrecker"

Hopefully Heidi now finds her true calling and signs a contract with Vivid.

You know Yazman, Heidi was with for four seasons and between 2008 to 2011 we not only didn't win anything but the team was consumed with poor play and multiple crippling injuries. In 2012 she was gone and we still had a hangover. Now with her just a memory we back as champions. She came out here to California to be a sideline reporter for the LA Lakers for the last two seasons and look what has happened to that team. Heidi may be a gorgeous woman but to me she will always be a Jonah. Keep her the hell away from the Red Sox and we need to find a way to get her out of LA as well.

I see that NFL cable gal is proudly displaying her pregnancy--wearing a tight knit dress last night. She is pretty and does a good job reading a script with all those ex-players around her (thinking about how they'd like to screw her! LOL). Her husband is probably a TV producer. I'd rather have these gals on there than men, because they look gorgeous, all dressed up in designer clothes, etc. I wish they didn't bleach their hair blonde, though. That lady Sam Ryan has the most gorgeous long chestnut hair--maybe the best I've seen.

TV sports is sloshing in cable money. There is criticism beginning to emerge on how TV sports channels are the most expensive and most subscribers are forced to pay for them in packages. ESPN, for example, takes $5 out of your cable bill per month, whether you watch it or not. I generally don't, preferring to watch the League channels. There is big bucks for all the gals they hire to talk on camera (mostly scripted), and the ex-players, too. Lucrative business. A lot easier than working your way up acting on soap operas.
