I scored a disappointing 108/200. I missed a few glaringly obvious ones, got a few obscure ones...but man, you forget just how many players come and go....

Here's a better question: Name the starting lineup for opening day next season.

Abraham writes Middlebrooke is tearing up the Arizona Instructional league. Could be the starting

3rd baseman next year. God knows they have to get younger and get rid of the deadwood. That could mean Tek and Ortiz replaced by Lavarnway and Youks. I think that kid at SS will stick, too, though he might not start until mid-season. The next team is going to run the bases like hell, and play better fundamentals. Or Henry will be run out of town.

Owner's never get canned. See Peter Angelos and Dan Snyder.

Most impressive? I got Rudy Pemberton, Shane Mack, Dwayne Hosey, Bill Haselman and Mike MacFarlane all of which under 10% of everyone who takes the quiz gets.

I find this to be embarrassing and I clearly had NO LIFE except Redsox baseball and collecting baseball cards as a kid (1991-1998).

155.

I racked my brain about a few of them, and ultimately forgot recent guys like Matsuzaka, Moss, Gonzalez, Payton and Kapler. Hillenbrand would have given me more.

BTW, who the hell is Chris Stynes?

That was pretty fun. Glad I remembered guys like Scott Cooper, Tony Pena, Troy OLeary, and Jack Clark.

For those of you too young to remember, Jack Clark had one of the most powerful swings in the history of the game. He just rarely connected.

I remember those pathetic seasons of Sox baseball... makes me not freak out about the deficiencies of the 2011 club so much.

83/200

Not all too bad considering I haven't followed the team that long I suppose, I don't know how I possibly forgot about Mike Lowell though.

Chris Stynes was traded for "Prime Time" Michael Coleman and Donnie Sadler, 2 guys who floundered in the farm system back when we had THE WORST farm system.

Scott Cooper, the Sox lone all star representative for 2 seasons. He was the best they had, and he was f***ing terrible.

I remember Clark, the Sox didnt learn anything about signing aging free swinging sluggers who cant play defense anymore. He was replaced by Andre Dawson who could barely walk at that point in his career.

Again.. the bad old days. Same city, same ball park, same fans... they even had NESN, right?

Different owners. Different front office. Different results.

Wrong :)

Same city, updated old toilet of a Park, extremely different fans. That place was volatile back then. The fans were always on edge and pissed off. Friendly Fenway didnt exist back then. In regards to NESN, yes they had it but back then, NESN was not available on regular cable, which meant if you couldnt afford it, you could only watch 81 games a year on either TV38 or channel 68 sportsnight with Butch Stearns.

I guess I meant same population base. Certainly the fans have changed over time.

That is impressive. When I was a kid in the '60's and early 70's, I could name just about every one on every team's roster. I would probably still do pretty well on a 60's quiz. You rocked this quiz. You obviously ate, drank and slept baseball in the 90's.

The owners have made all the difference. They gave the fans what they wanted and they were able to turn the franchise into a gold mine. The prior owners were small minded. They had no vision. That being said. It's time for ownership to bring in new blood to the FO. The current FO has lost it's edge. They've gone soft. JH knows this and changes will be made.
