Well congratulations to the Yankees, the AL East winner and possessors of home-field in the first two rounds. And props to the Tigers on their first division victory since 1987. This should be a good series.

The Yanks announced that CC will pitch Game 4 (if necessary) and Garcia will pitch Game 3. So it's CC - Nova - Garcia - CC - Nova. And thanks for making the thread Coco.

Makes a ton of sense. The off day after game 4 allows for the #2 starter to come back on full rest in game 5. CC is the only one on short rest, and with his recent hiatus, he should be up for the challenge. I feel good about this series, but we'll see. Anything can happen. We can hit Verlander and we sure as hell can run up his pitch count. Havent seen the full complement of the lineup in awhile. It does sound like ARod might be limited, but he should still play if he can. Regardless, we've got a hell of a shot to win this.

Tigers in five. This is the worst I've felt about the Yankees going into a postseason series since 2004 vs Boston. Granted, I've been underestimating this team since Spring Training, but I think the road ends here. Hope I'm wrong.

You don't think the Yankees will be successful against a rotation composed entirely of RH pitchers?

I actually prefer the lineup they run out there against lefties. Jones and Montero are better than Gardner and Posada. And their two switch hitters, Teixeira and Swisher, are much better from the right side (at this point I expect nothing out of Tex hitting lefty against any sort of decent pitching).

Guys. Come on. It's obvious that the Tigers are going to win the American League this year. It was obvious as soon as the 2012 schedules were released. The Sox only open up with the AL champs. Rays - Yankees - Rangers past 3 years. Tigers next year. Tigers in 4.

Its a lot easier to hit HR's against RH's in Yankee stadium though.

A LH pitcher who has pin point control like Lee, can usually prevent the whole team from scoring HR's.

There is one pitcher like Lee. And that's Lee.

Sure it can be easier at NYS to hit HRs vs lefties, but that isn't nearly as important as the fact that the Yankees lineup isn't built to hit righties nearly as well as it is to hit lefties.

The difference in the lineups really can't be overstated. They're a completely different team depending on the handedness of the opposing pitcher. It's a topic that hasn't gotten nearly enough attention going into these playoffs.

Did the almighty Yankees not have a sold out crowd for this game?

There's like 200 people left. lol

Could it because the rain is pouring and its supposed to get even worse later tonight?

25 pitches and a rain delay for Verlander. CC at least got through 2 innings. If we can work Verlander as we were doing, we can get him out of the game after 6 innings. And then we can feast

They very well may have. This will definitely play into our hands though. Our pen is much better than the Tigers and we've already gotten an extra inning out of CC

Except guess who you're going to see for the Yanks if they ever resume...

Looking like a rainout. Nice job MLB.

Yeah its totally MLB's fault the wheather turned for the worst.
