Too bad we don't have enough money to re-sign paps. He's about the only one lately I've seen show any intensity.

huh? Dont have enough money? I think I saw John Henry printing money the other day.... Dont let them fool you, they have the money. They might not like the commitment in years

This Romine kid...I got his Dad's autograph at a game when I was a kid.

Is that Kevin Romine's kid? Hope he's better than his dad.

Paps looks like the pitcher of 07 right now. No splitter, but everything else.

Great location.

He threw a split earlier. It's there.

Yes, he looks like the pitcher of 07.

I was initially hesitant about them resigning Papelbon, but now that we've seen so many actual FA busts and young guys approximate but not match what proven veteran stars can do, I think you've got to retain Papelbon. He's a truly elite closer. There can be no doubt.

I dont get that from a manager's perspective. You have three games to finish the yr and if you lose tonight, you're in a flatfooted tie with Tampa. If Paps throws a full inning and dominates, then you still go to the 11th tied up. And if the Yanks still end up winning, then you burn Paps for tomorrow for nothing

Let me re-phrase. Don't have the money that Paps will want!

How is it possible that Drew can come back for the whole game yet there was no word of him being available before this?

They were saving him for the playoffs.

At this point in the season you play for today. Tomorrow may be a blowout where you won't need him.

And frankly, tonight's game makes me a bit optimistic that they could do something in Baltimore, regardless of tonight's outcome. Maybe wishful thinking.

IMO, we win and we do what we got to do in Baltimore. We lose this team stays dead.
