They're carrying 2 catchers this year. Tek is 39. Salty has had to catch Wake. Or try to.

Do you think Salty is a bit tired at this point?

I have said all along that he has been adequate, and for him that is exceeding expectations.

I hate Sweet Caroline. Absolutely hate it. There is nothing that says pink hat than men singing that song to each other.

Neil Diamond is great. I like his music a lot.

BTW

Francona not being Francona.

Agreed, but I hate the wave more.

I thought Bard was gonna be it for us.

This guys has turned out to be total s***.

One run ain't gonna do it either.

We find one thing about which we disagree.

I think so my friend. Seems like you are more like a blues or jazz guy, aren't you?

:)

And I disagree with you.

1. Lackey. I give Theo a pass for Crawford, no one saw this coming (though I still wasn't happy with the amount and length). Lackey, forget it. They gave him Beckett, #1 starter money when he has had his problems pitching not only against AL East teams but in particular at Fenway. How surprising that this trend only continued when he put on a Red Sox uniform...

2. Dice-K. Big big blunder from day 1, but relying on him as a starter this season was especially foolish.

3. Wakefield. Theo really expected Wake to be his 6th/replacement starter? The guy should have retired years ago.

4. Farm system pitching. Where the hell is all this talent we've been hearing about for the last couple years? In the last 6 years we've gotten what, Lester, Buch, Bard, and Paps. Where the hell are the rest of the supposed talent?

5. Farm System Position players. Yet again, we were supposed to be deep with talent, yet it hasn't shown up anywhere. Reddick impressed early but has been ice cold ever since. Lowrie can't stay healthy and when he is on the field he's either hot or ice cold, more cold than hot, and he is far from solid defensively.

6. Deadline moves. We knew we needed OF help, BP and SP help and all we did was add one starter coming off another injury. Not enough. Not even close.

Yes, some of the injuries have sucked, but you have to expect that to a degree. Depth is just as valuable as having strong starting players.

Top that off with a horrible in-game manager and you have a recipe for disaster down the stretch. The season started off horribly, we didn't add enough help at the deadline, how surprising that the season is finishing horribly to...

Most fans in the know would agree with this.

I think the problem with Crawford is Theo put two speedsters (with Ellsbury) in a lineup with a manager who doesn't utilize speed. He is still batting Pedey 2nd. Pedey can bat anywhere. Crawford is buried in the 6-hole, whether he hits or not.

Tito has never been able to handle pitching--anywhere.

They have made a lot of mistakes.

Hank Steinbrenner would have fired the GM and manager by now.

They would do the fans a big favor by not making the playoffs--because needed changes might not be made otherwise.
