Where did I say that?

Either way, it may not be his direct fault but the organization as a whole is partially responsible for it. If players come into camp out of shape they should be reprimanded for it. They are employees after all, who have to be at their best.

Then during spring training and the season they regularly have workouts to help keep themselves healthy. Obviously something is not working out in either one of these scenarios. If it's in this one then they need to take a look out at their training staff and workouts and conditioning. Late season fatigue and small injuries are normal, but to constantly have multiple players going on and off the DL multiple times in one season just isn't right. Players who are in great shape and are worked out well and conditioned well don't have that happen.

Not you bro. I was agreeing with you.

Back to back injury seasons is not a coincidence. Lack of planning and execution in effect out there. Since Theo is the head of this organization, he is fully responsible of the final result.

I disagree.

Why is anyone to blame when it comes to injuires? Doesn't make sense.

But just in case. GMs are always charged for the overall final result.

It does make sense. Read my above post. If these things happened once in a while it's normal. But the amount of injuries the past few seasons has been too much for normality. Wayyyyy too much. Some things have been freak accidents like Pedroia's leg or Jacoby's ribs. But so much other things haven't been. If no one is going to be accountable why have a large training staff and all of that?

Tomorrow shall be our day guys...We need to take at least 2 of this series, and tomorrow our ace is on the mound and on National TV.

Let's Go Red Sox!

You know, its funny, my first post at Talksox was a long thread bitching and whining about the training staff being incompetent, and that was before 2010 happened. Theo has done his job, its the conditioning coaches that have really ruined this team over the last few years.

What is Francona's explanation for going with Weiland tonight instead of Miller? I thought he'd want the lefty because the Rays have few lefties: Damon, Joyce, Kotchman, Brignac and Jaso.

I have to say that this gives me flashbacks to 1978 when Zimmer started rookie call up Bobby Sprowl in the crucial Yankee series.

Miller struck out 4 of the 5 batters that he faced last night. As I posted above, I would have started him over Weiland. I would have had him on a short leash. If he walked 2 batters to start an inning, Weiland would have been ready. I would have taken the chance that Miller would dominate.

You may be right, but you know Tito doesn't manage like that. He manages by pitch counts. Besides, he can't think that further ahead like other people. If he could think like your post, the Sox would have a better pitching record.

Look at Maddon. Left Hellickson in for 117 pitches until he got into trouble. Took him out.

No pitch count machine there. Just old fashioned common sense. Any well conditioned pitcher should be able to throw 120 pitches without much decline in stuff. The Red Sox practice of 100 or so pitches and out is absurd. You look at the game situation and the pitcher--not the pitch count machine. Never take a pitcher out who is cruising.
