I think you're confusing passion with mindlessness. Does it really take that much effort to put some thought into a post? I even post a "Woo" or a "s***" here and there' date=' but I don't do it constantly to rack up a quick hundred posts every time something happens. Why's it so bad to miss the old game threads where intelligent posters made intelligent posts?[/quote']

I don't think anyone posts just to rack up the amount of posts that they have tallied under their avatar. If they do, then that's one thing, but gamethreads aren't here for intelligent conversations. These are here for the purpose of watching the game and quickly commenting on plays. The other threads, IMO, are for more thought out posts.

Then again, this is my first year here, so I'm not sure how they used to be, just seems to make sense to me, that's all.

So we're left with a few options here

1) Everyone stops being angry at each other over really stupid things

2) I get angry and ban everyone

3) That's it, those are the only 2 options

Talksox is a place where we talk about the GAME of baseball. It's a game, that's all it is. There haven't ever been ridiculous rules here about what should or shouldn't be posted in specific threads (despite what some may have you believe) because I thought that wouldn't be FUN. FUN. Enjoyable. Entertaining. If posting on a message board is none of those things to you, for whatever reason, then leave. Please, leave. That's directed at everyone. I'm sick of some of the things that I've been reading here recently.

Have a problem with a specific poster? Guess what!? I don't care....at all. You can either work it out, ignore it, or leave. I haven't been around much recently so I guess I've let this spiral out of control. YoTN has been holding down the fort but a lot of this crap is too much for one person to process. So, I don't know what my point really is but basically its "what the hell is going on here" because reading these posts is like pulling teeth sometimes. So stop it, please.

This was an excellent win. This was the one game in the series I was worried about, and the Sox took it. Saltalamacchia is continuing to shine and Crawford has continued hitting the ball hard. (Except the bunt).

Now that they took the game started by Wake, a sweep seems much more likely.

I'm really excited to see Bedard throw tomorrow. I think we're finally going to kind of take the training wheels off of him after his DL stint and let him go, see how he does with 100 pitches. Last outing, even giving up those 3 runs via the little bitch hits, he was still extremely efficient (~70 pitches over 5 IP IIRC). If he can do that tomorrow, he should get through 7 easy, and then hand it over to the bullpen.

After seeing Lackey perform well against the Yankees, if Bedard can come out and throw well tomorrow, that huge SP question mark that we had 2 weeks ago may be starting to mend itself together now that the dirt is beginning to settle.

Couldn't agree more. Coming into tonight, I really thought this was the only game of the three that looked like a mismatch in the Twins favor. Baker had been dominant as of late, especially at home (think he was like 5-0 with a sub 1.0 ERA) and Wake is... well... Wake. Prone to giving up runs at inopportune times and unlikely to get through 6+ innings without being hit hard in at least on inning. That was the case tonight, but our offense woke up at the right time and we got it done in the clutch. I was impressed with Wake, aside from the inning where our defense looked like it was still in bed at the hotel, and he did well to limit the damage to 5 runs over 7 innings.

Now we need to follow it up with a beatdown of Liriano tomorrow and Blackburn on Wednesday. I see no reason why we can't sweep this series and get the off-season started early for the Twins in the process.

Was happy to check this arvo to see another win. Can i ask a dumb question please move if off topic. Is every game on tv there and do fans watch every single game generally? Seems like such a crazy amount of games a season compared to what most sports where i am play a season

Depends where you live. For example, in Boston almost every game is broadcasted on TV. However, where I live, in Maryland I rarely get any Sox games so I bought the MLB extra innings package.

It wouldn't surprise me if there is people who watch every game, but there is no way I can. It's not that I don't want too, its that I have other things to do, such as work, hang with friends and etc. That being said, I probably still watch about 100 games a year (not including playoffs.)

There are a handful of posters on here that you'll probably notice are here for pretty much every game thread. Day games are tough for some people to watch, and the summer isn't always the easiest time to simply just have the 25+ hours a week.

So make it or no lol?

Edit: 10 minutes later no response so I'll just make it.

YES MAKE IT. I'm at work and pop in from time to time.
