Don't expect a SS during the trade deadline. We do need one but I don't see Theo making a move.

I hear ya'..we've needed a SS since Nomar....and one who was a team player for a lot longer than that....

Oh god, this pumpsie green dude is such a clown. It doesn't matter if we get a pitcher we're "going to be out of the AL east race" remember dumbass? You're not my time. Later everyone hopefully the Sox pull something from their sleeve.

First' date=' Miller didn't do well in his last start either. And second, his wildness problem has not yet been solved. Other teams have given him a shot and he was released from them too. There is no need to keep trying to squeeze water from a rock; there are alternatives.[/quote']

No good ones. Weiland is the guy just behind Miller on the depth chart. I think Weiland is an interesting prospect, but consider how well that worked out. He needs more time in the minors -- which was ultimately Miller's problem. Kid was one of the most rushed prospects of this generation.

What's alarming me right now is just how badly our defense at short is deteriorating. Scutaro really shouldn't be playing SS at this point.

I hope Francoma is warming up the bullpen. This game is very winnable still.Miller has nothing.

Lets see....three runs down.....Miller vs Price.

Negative on the very winnability hypothesis. Unlikely is a better choice of words.

I think tonight is a good night for the Red Sox to hit their first grand slam.

I'm not worried about the homerun part. I'm worried about getting the 3 guys on ahead of it.

I would rather see Doubrant or Aceves start than Miller. Hell, I would rather see Atchison start.

Aceves is incredibly valuable where he is, and Miller's numbers so far this year are better than Doubront's were when he was up. None of the options we have are definitely better than Miller.

Miller's velocity is noticeably down. He was sitting 93 on the Fenway gun, he's 89-90 tonight. It seems to be causing him to nibble, which he doesn't nearly have the command for.

Wonder how much long it'll be before we give Doubront a shot? Also really curious if Millers stuff would play better out of the pen. A lot of guys gain quite a bit of velocity in short spurts rather than having to throw 110 pitches.

Agreed. I'm sure he'd be much more effective as our lefty out of the pen. I'm all for sending him down and turning him into a relief pitcher. He could dial up the heat more. He still needs to develop some secondary pitches.

And f*** you Miller, quit giving them the runs back.
