Weiland is better than his numbers. There were some fielding letdowns and some things just plain falling in more often than normal in that second inning. I think anyone paying attention would recognize that he's doing alright.

Ah, I see. Even though I wasn't around for that inning I've been impressed with him so far. I saw a start with him last weekend when he was with Pawtucket and liked what I saw there too.

He ran into some bad luck and the O's took advantage in the second. Frankly I think his stuff is really impressive. I love the movement on his mid 90's FB. That's a really good main offering if he can get some consistency with it. That cutter has missed some bats too. Kid's a big leaguer in the making.

I'd say it differently. I'd say he hasn't been able to locate it consistently. He's definitely had good moments out there but the Orioles are definitely getting him occasionally. Par for the course in a young pitcher.

Nice induced GIDP. Looks like Weiland bounced back really well.

Agreed.

That's why you bring him out for the 3rd.

I will say that if he can locate that fastball consistently, that's almost a Halladay type fastball with its movement. With his height, pitching down into the zone, he can make it real heavy. If he can learn to pound the bottom of the zone with that fastball he's going to be a lot better than his current "late inning reliever" ceiling.

I see why he is negative though. I do it all the time. It's a reverse psychology thing. Besides' date=' if you look at the team negatively you're bound to be more pleased than disappointed in the end. And I can see why he got pissed off too. No need for people to be jumping on him at all. Not necessary. I really don't get why when people are frustrated and mad about the team or say anything negative they have to get jumped all over about it. People react differently to the game, deal with it.[/quote']

Like I said he's free to do it. I still don't like it but I'm not going to jump on him for it. Yeah being negative leaves you less disappointed but still. This team while they have some bad going on they still have a LOT of good things going for them you know what I mean?

Woot. One more inning Weiland!

Yep. Kid has shown that he has some duck feathers, if you know what I mean. That bad inning didn't stick to him.

Wait, are you saying he looks like a duck? Or are you saying you want to cook him and eat him with orange sauce? YOU SICK BASTARD!
