The Sox need to DL Lackey, because clearly there's something wrong with him. Call up Kyle Weiland. He's got a 3.02 ERA in Pawtucket, he's sporting a 9.7 K/9, and a 1.158 WHIP, not too bad. He's a 24 year old guy who could be a nice asset to our team. Wakefield did well in his initial few starts, but he's gotten torched lately and now has an ERA closing in on 5 (4.84 as a starter). In June and July, he as a 5.50 ERA.

We need Buchholz back in the rotation, we need Lackey replaced by Weiland, and we need our 5 man rotation to be Beckett - Lester - Buchholz - Miller - Weiland.

I would feel a whole lot better about this team if we had that rotation than if we have Wake and Lackey trotting out there every 5 games.

Any pitcher can't be worst than Lackey these days, bring whoever, but bring him now!

Hopefully we can just play through this stretch of injuries and shittyness with a winning record. Craw's back soon and hopefully Buchholz's back isn't serious.

This. I can't stand all the talking heads/Boston media who keep saying "But with the injuries, they have no one else, they have to just pain through it." ********. There's a load of talent (according to Theo) in the minors. Do it.

What is it going to take for Mcdonald to get DFAed? It seemed like the worse he plays' date=' the more starts Tito gives him.[/quote']

He will probably have to play good.

Incase you haven't realized, since Crawford's been out, Reddick plays against RHP's and McDonald against LHP's. It because Reddick is left handed and McDonald is right handed.

Lester-Cecil shouldn't be much of a contest.

The only reason we didn't pull of the rally is because I posted. Guess who's not posting tonight?

WIN!!!

...and Pedroia batting between AGon and Ortiz. This lineup is a strong indicator of dementia.

I bet we'll see Lackey give a "Lackey-Quality start" next time (9 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks over 6.1) and the red sox staff will be like "Nice, Lackey is okay..." and then that'll be enough to keep them from DL-ing him and we'll see him go 3 outtings of 5-9+ ER then another "Lackey-Quality Start"

Red Sox can get a lot of wins this year. Maybe they will win the division, too. I think we will see some playoff games, but the World Series is at the very soonest a 2012 dream. I mean, can you really go to the WS with just Beckett & Lester & Buch (maybe Buch, injury pending...) HOWEVER, the All-Star break is almost here and everything can change at the mid-way point.

GO SOX! Let's win tonight and then focus on tomorrow :)

Huh. So. Lester's back.

If we can get Buchholz back healthy, I'll match up him, Lester, and Beckett against any other 3 in the league.
