Hey this is a great day, boys....Sox win...Cameron is gone...Reddick is the new rightfielder and perhaps Jenks is on his way out as well....doesn't get much better than this! If TIT-o drowns in the whirlpool, it will be perfect!

Varitek must feel good. Woulda' been amazing to see back to back to back with Reddick. Jut 3 feet short.

Reddick looks great though with the triple and single and scored run. It should be Crawford, Ellsbury, Reddick for the rest of the season till Reddick's bat proves us otherwise. McD can go to single A now.

Agreed and fixed. I like that. A lot of speed there, BA, power, defense, youth, etc., so.... is it so hard to understand for Francona?, really?

i think given a couple more opportunities that reddick will have proven himself to be the everyday RF. we don't need to go out nd spend money on some average RF'er. reddick has been a beast, he's young, and we can prob spend next to nothing to keep him. i guarantee we make no moves before the trade deadline.

They need to fill the hole with a seasoned guy like Beltran. Reddick can compete for the job next season. Right now, Theo has playoffs and a championship to worry about. You don't take a risk on akid when there are better short term options..

It will be interesting to see how Reddick and Kalish who is on the verge of going to AAA perform between now and July 31st. Right field is one of the areas of our team where there's the greatest room for improvement. It will also be interesting to see how Andrew Miller and Dan Wheeler do prior to the trade deadline. Barring any major injuries, it will most likely be one of these 3 areas where we look to improve at the trade deadline.

I don't see how, he could be inconsistent, he's showed pretty good things (offense, defense, speed, power, discipline AB, etc.) he's not a fluke anymore in my opinion, he has talent. If he is around .270 as everyday player, we'll be ok, besides, Kalish and Drew would be a decent backups (in that order, hehe).

He looked awesome- like a finished product, but he whe n the bell rang he stunk it up for a good part of the season at AAA. Young players tend to be inconsistent. Major league pitchers adjust and find weaknesses. We don't need the pitchers figuring him out in August after the trading deadline passes.

Jenks should join Cameron' date=' he has a 7.24 ERA, unacceptable for a "reliever"![/quote']

If not for that fat pitch he served up for a homerun, he would have been looking at an ERA between 5-6.

As for the RFer situation, I still like the idea of Drew playing more. I know he's been sucking but he has a good swing and I think he needs to play everyday. I'd keep him near the bottom of the lineup however. Good game by Tek today out of the 5-spot.

You are right on this, but i prefer all day, give the opportunity to our farm than bring a .250 RF or another Cameron, no way; recent experiences show us how bad our GM has been bringing up "super stars" and wasting a lot of money (D-K, Lackey, Jenks, Cameron, Smoltz, etc. and the list continuos.) and btw clogging our talents and payroll.

even with a 5-6 ERA is unacceptable for a guy who was even considered to close some games and is making 7.5 MuSD.

Drew's career WAS great, but by now, I don't see him like a everyday player, only as a decent backup, he is 4 months and count-downing to announce his retirement, his mind these days, is so far away from Boston.

He's playing for a new contract, and Boston would be a great stage for him to showcase his talents. He wouldn't be clogging our talents.

well, if we are talking about Carlos Beltran (.282/.382/.858) would be nice, but i have understood that the Rangers are pushing for him and the talks are advanced, but a player with that caliber definitely would be nice.
