Not his fault for taking the big money. Contrary to popular belief on this site, John Lackey is a capable ML starter who despite a rough start last year, pitched more like himself in the second half and this year I'm sure his wife having CANCER was a bit more of a priority than baseball. He was solid in all three starts prior to this one. Over the course of a season in which a guy makes upwards of 30 starts, there is going to be a few rough ones.

8, 4 ER against one of the best offenses in the NL.
