Pirates do not have that big of fan base and the tribe doesn't have that little or fanbase.

 Bias?

Also this chart doesn't show population. That Cleveland swatch definitely has a higher population than the Pirates area, which is basically WV and Pennsyltucky.

Suns, they were being generous. The original map had cleveland territory being a giant smoldering lake with all 29 other teams pissing into it

Lol, I'm pretty sure the Twins have more fans in Wisconsin than the Brewers. And lol the Sox have pretty much Chicago and Gary Indiana, surrounded by civil people that are Cubs fans.

Good one. last time I heard that one I laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur.

I know what you are but what am I

And CT should be a bit more Yankees. Not exactly cut down the middle, but about 1/3 Yankees (the left third) and the rest Red Sox.

(Fractions referring to geographical proportions of the state, not population)

Yeah, I would take the bottom left third and go into Hartford. East or North of Hartford is sox territory, but really the only CT city that is true blue sox fans would be Manchester, and that is barely a city. I grew up right outside of Waterbury, and 80-90% of fans there are Yankee fans with the rest split between Mets and Sox

From what I've seen/heard, New Britain might be the split. The Yankees would get Litchfield, Fairfield, New Haven, and part of Hartford county (the western part), whereas the Sox would get Windham, Tolland, New London, Middlesex, and the other part (the eastern part) of Hartford county.

Manchester is far from the only Sox-fan-dominated city in Connecticut. In fact, I would go so far as to say it isn't even one itself. The last six or seven years Manchester has become more like my city (East Hartford), which is to say slowly morphing into a Hartford-like demographic. A lot more low-income thuggy types, who tend to be Yankees fans. It's probably closer to an even split right now, maybe leaning a little Sox due to the rural parts of the city.

On the other hand, Southeastern Connecticut is about 3 million percent Red Sox fans, especially in the Groton and New London area.

I'd say its pretty innaccurate, but it's a cool map nonetheless. I think the Giants have a bigger following than the A's. Like someone already said the Pirates fanbase isn't that large (although I love them lol), I think the Braves extend into North Florida, etc. I could pcik out a few other little things, but an awesome idea anyway. I love it!

That map supports my hairbrained notion of ending the league imbalance by expanding the American League into Montreal and Portland.

Louisiana ain't got that many Astros fans.

People 55 and older are Cardinals (was closes team to here back then) or Yanks fans.

For people under 40 or so, the Braves were the only team on TV (well them and the Cubs, but they always suck)on a regular basis as kids, so that's who they follow.

Is your memory that short? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Expos#Purchase_by_Major_League_Baseball

The Montreal Expos couldn't fill a third of their stadium.

Could you blame them? Who would want to sit in that Stadium. I agree with Dojji that Montreal needs to get another team, I just don't know if now is the time. But hopefully sooner than later. The Expos drew well for a long time (although towards the end you wouldn't think so). They need to get a new Stadium built up there and get the right ownership group in place.

I don't think Montreal was ever the same after the strike shortened season. The team they had that year had a shot to win it all and when there was no WS that season, I think that turned a lot of people off that just never came back.

I wouldn't put another team back up there anytime soon though.
