It was a beautiful game from a purist's point of view. Both starters gave up 0 runs in 7 innings and the one run scores on a squeeze play. Lester only gives up 3 hits and Carmona 2.

It doesn't matter in the standings, but the Rays have probably been worse. They haven't had a single lead through six games.

wow the Redsox lost today? 1-0? Going to do a little research on on the box score. The offense has been quiet since spring training so thats a good 6 weeks now. Something needs to be done to shake them loose a little. I think the hitting coach should be reasigned to Pawtucket if not canned out right.

Yes I know that the hitting coach is the most overrated coaching position in sports but after 6 weeks of this and the lack of hitting with RISP the last few years makes it a feasable move.

 

I could only Imagine with the Yankees are going to do to this team I fully expect a home opener filled with alot of angry Redsox fans lol.

Or buy talent worth what they are being paid. After all the spending the Red Sox did this winter are you really going there? Seriously... You gave up 2 pretty good players to sign one thats biggest asset is speed. If Theo really wanted he could have gotten 2-3 pretty damn good players for $140+ mil, but whatever. Now you have black holes all over that lineup when compared to other stacked lineups in the AL.

I wouldn't call Crawford and Gonzalez black holes. I think they filled a hole that was in LF last year (Crawford) and allowed Youkilis to replace Beltre at 3B (not a negative offensive replacement IMO). It basically moved the LF hole to C, but the hole would have existed otherwise.
