He's who I'm the least worried about, especially considering he was pretty much healthy back in September. I think this whole team has been taking it easy this spring, as you could tell by a 10 game losing streak which was followed by such a dominant outing last night.

Francona doesn't appear to be worried, either, as he is hitting Youk in the clean up spot.

Tomorrows line up:

Ellsbury

Pedroia

Crawford

Youkilis

Gonzalez

Ortiz

Cameron

Salty

Scutaro

I am not a huge fan of going Gonzo - Ortiz. I see no protection offered by Ortiz to Gonzo against a LHP. I predict Gonzo gets walked 2 times tomorrow.

I'm as worried about Youk as I am of the belief that Jake Fox will win the MVP this season. For those not following, Jake Fox hit 10 HR this spring.

I'm fine, but thanks. Just having financial issues at the moment. Also, I seem to be getting bad stomachaches latel--oh.

No, I'm not worried.

As to the actual topic, nope.

Haven't seen him hit the ball hard yet. Hope that thumb is OK. He has that funny grip on the bat where he slides his hand down. You wonder if he's feeling that thumb.

He will come around I'm sure, as the above poster said, I'd be more concerned with his defense this year as he has not played 3rd regularly in a while.

Youk didn't hit a lick in spring training. Then he got a solid hit his first at bat in Texas. Since then, he hasn't hit a lick. You have to be concerned if his thumb is bothering him.

Anyone yet?

His OBP is .350. Just because he's had a few bad AB means very little. Do you have any idea how cold his bald head must be in Cleveland?

I'm more concerned about his reactions and fielding at 3rd base than his hitting.

Sometimes when a player changes positions, it can affect his hitting. The mental pressures adjusting on the field. Hope that isn't the case with Youks.

Ever notice how closers get bombed when they get put into a non-closing situation?

It happens frequently, and shows how mental the game can be.

Here are a few folks to worry about more than Youk.....

Crawfish - no hit, not much field and no real value in stolen bases (maybe the bright lights of a real market are too much for the little fella'...hope it's not a 'take the money and hide' deal)

Smellsbury - am guessing that he'll be gone soon....never really recovered with his teammates on his 'quitting' last year..doubt he's got much in-clubhouse support

Saltalalkgfasldkfalksfjlafjlaschia - sorry, not close to being a big league catcher. Double A at best. No hit. No throw. No run. No thanks. Yanks got Martin, we got hosed.

MatsuSUCKA - 'nuff said, The gyro ball never really did work. Time to fish or cut bait (and have sushi). Trade him for a bag of balls. Or trade him WITH a bag of balls.

Shellackey - 15+ ERA and the biggest whiner / complainer / blamer (of his teammates) in the game. Expects every rocket they hit to be caught. Crawfish should sit IN the Monster Seats when he pitches...lot of action up there.

Many more as well...just getting too depressed writing this....Cameron? Drew? Scutaro? Wheeler? Etc. Etc.

Fix these guys and there's a chance we could get to .500. Can we move to the NL?

OK, RedSoxFanforLife.......no more finger pointing..if it isn't everyone on the field, then blame Fran-coma! How many blunders (not stealing down by a run and having the next guy get a hit? , etc.) has he made? Can't wait for him to get to Chapter 2 of the book he's reading: "Winning Baseball Strategy"

..and, Meh, I wouldn't call a slugging percentage of .302 in 9 games exactly tearing the cover off the ball...a corner outfielder with 1 double and 3 RBI's??? Works out to 44 RBI's for the year! All-Star!

haha basing it off RBIs is a joke. Has an 387 OBP, can't knock him he's staying healthy at least. He said this was going to be his final year and he's putting up solid numbers. Probably your 4th best hitter behind pedo, agon and ortiz right now too.

Yep, got that right...RBI's mean nothin'....I myself like the stat of 'How many groundballs has he hit in night games with a player wearing an odd number on second base?" (he might be in the top 10 in the league on that one.......and great, he's healthy and still is not producing...well, at least he's not spreading germs......

and if he is our 4th best hitter....and, god forbid, Big Puffy is our third best, we are in screwedville, my friend....we'll be 15 out by Memorial Day........
