Pedro never really won it without Schilling. Same with Randy Johnson. Curt just owns the big stage. Pedro might have been the most electric but whats that do for you? In fact I find Pedro to be alot like Peyton Manning.

In the grand scheme of things "big stage" and "big games" and the like mean nothing in a person's career. World Championship rings and s*** like that aren't what a person did individually in their career. Depends mainly on their surroundings. Postseason shouldn't even matter in a discussion like this

I was just kidding, Pedro in his prime was near un-hittable. I'd certainly take him over Randy during that period. Although from a career standpoint I'd go with the Unit.

What is this? Boxing? It's a team sport. To me that ring or in this case rings means a heck of alot. But since I'm already in this I may as well go all in and throw out another reason.

Schill got people out with power stuff and in 2007 with pure junk. Pedro never was the same when he lost that high to mid 90's stuff. So Schill was able to flat out pitch when the stuff just wasn't there. Pedro, on the other hand served up BP at times twords the end.

I was only 11 but if Lonborg had given up sking I think it'd be Big Jim.

Over the short haul Pedro

The long haul Roger

Wake gets honorable mention.

Pedro hands-down. In terms of power, intelligence, pitch selection and sheer mound presence, it's not close. When he was 'on', nobody could touch him. We knew it, he knew it, and the opposing hitters knew it.

Apart from the All-Star game, I think my fondest Pedro memory was the 8/29/2000 street fight against Tampa. He hit Gerald Williams to lead it off and the proceeded to throw perfect baseball into the 9th, while Tampa was preoccupied with trying to throw at our hitters. It was the most emphatic "f*** you" performance I've ever seen and showed his ability to lock himself in in a situation that would've rattled most people. His post-game sound bytes were priceless too. :D

Not true. Pedro lost his heat when he got hurt in 2001. He was a different pitcher after that, yet in 2002 and 2003 he still pitched a full season with an ERA+ over 200. When he won with the Sox in 2004, he was Pedro Lite like Schilling was in 2007. And, like Schilling in the 2007 postseason, there was some good and some bad, but he could still pitch.

And that's what made him great IMO. Even at times when he didn't have his power, he was able to change his approach to the extent that he was still a highly effective starter. That '99 ALDS game against Cleveland comes to mind.

Litmus test for baseball knowledge in my opinion. The only correct answer is Pedro. Nobody should need ORS to point that out... he should save his neuronal activity for other things.

No offense to Schilling but Pedro had the best Red Sox pitcher OF ALL TIME

Definitely is Pedro for me too.

Clemens has been awesome in a couple of years and since he left Boston, but in the Red Sox uni, was Pedro.
