If you don't want to talk about what the announcers said, then why'd you respond to my post making fun of what the announcers said to tell me how their complaining was legitimate? You're the one who took me saying that it was silly that 6 Yankees made the All-Star game and their announcers were complaining hat more didn't make the team and turned it into "the Yankees have players who were snubbed, it's ridiculous to say otherwise". Do you seriously believe that more than 6 Yankees players deserved to make the All-Star game? If not then you also disagree with what the announcers were saying, although you may not find it as comical as I did.

I think that A-Rod, Granderson, Sabathia, Rivera, Robertson, and Teixeira deserved to be there. I also think that Gardner, Martin, and Cano are borderline and that Jeter obviously should not be there.

Anyway, the part of your post I responded to was not necessarily about everything the announcers said, but rather about the idea that some Yankees were snubbed. I thought I made that clear when I focused my argument on what I considered to be their main point ... that Yankees were snubbed.

Players shouldn't go to the ASG just because that would make too many players from one team. Players should go because they deserve to go, regardless of what other players on their team have done.

I don't understand why you were arguing with me then. I never stated that Yankees weren't snubbed. I stated that it was comical that the Yankees had 6 All-Stars, many of which didn't deserve to be there, and the Yankees announcers were upset that they didn't have more than 6 All-Stars named from their team. Even you don't think the Yankees should have had more than 6 All-Stars.

I don't find the idea that the Yankees should have more than 6 All-Stars to be comical, or even disagreeable. I think legitimate arguments can be made both ways.

Then that's what you should have said. I disagree and think you're being pretty biased because even your generous count which includes Teixeira who you admitted was the third best player at his position, you still don't have more than 6.

That has always been the crux of my argument, even if it's not the only thing I said.

Anyway, who cares if Robertson is a setup man. Often times he winds up getting the most important outs of the game, and he leads all AL relievers in WAR. Seems pretty deserving to me. And Teixeira is 9th in the AL in wOBA. Those are valid arguments ... how that shows bias I'm not really sure.

Now that only leaves me at six, but Brett Gardner is the best defensive player in all of baseball. A case could certainly be made for him. As for Martin, he has the third highest WAR among all everyday catchers (only slightly behind Wieters) ... and he's close enough to Wieters numbers wise where you can bring other, intangible factors into play.

Blindly claiming that certain Yankees should be in the ASG would be indicative of bias, but supporting those claims with reasonable evidence isn't.

EDIT: Quoted the post before you deleted the part about Robertson.

I would disagree that stating Gardner is the best defensive player in all of baseball is evidence he should be going to the All-Star game when he's 6th in WAR among outfielders. And I think the fact that you continue to make a case for players who are anywhere from 3rd to 6th best at their position demonstrates your bias. If you said the Yankees had many borderline players who were close to making the cut, I'd agree with you. But I think to say that the Yankees have 7 or more players who deserve to go to the All-Star game is being biased.

To talk a little more about the all star thing: you can make a case for Santana over Martin.

Santana has better numbers
