I spoke with Dipre and he liked my earlier idea, so anyone who has NOT filled out their lineups (and the rest of their rosters) by Sunday evening will NOT be able to vote in the power rankings.

 

I believe the only people that are in jeopardy of this are:

I'm about to do it on my ps3 but just one thing. I know for a fact I'm not over the cap and I don't plan on making any changes do I still need to look up the salaries? I know dumb question but it will make it easier for me(also others). If not I'll still do it just figured maybe I can find a way out of it.

Flynnatic and Exman are the only 2 left who haven't updated their lineups in the Clubhouse thread. If you guys haven't done it by tomorrow afternoon/evening, then we will start the power rankings without you, and you cannot vote in the initial power rankings.

 

In addition, Divinity only has 1 lineup, so you should probably make a lineup vs. lefties and one vs. righties (unless you intend on using the same lineup regardless) and Ytrb needs to add his last reliever.

I figured that you'd all PM me the power rankings. Particularly because there's going to be A LOT of personal s*** once the voting starts. I want to keep it as civil as possible until then. If anyone has any problems with the power rankings being sent to me, then we can do it out in the open.

I think that the rankings should be done privately because I feel that more people would be honest. For example, if Keeper, or Dipre posts their rankings first, people might change their rankings to spite another person's rankings, or if someone is undecided and sees someone elses rankings, they might make an adjustment or two based on what previous people have said. (For example, if Keeper puts Dipre's team last, Dipre might lower Keeper's team when he makes his rankings, and other people might think that they don't have good teams and lower their rankings)

 

I just think it'll be more honest if it's done privately so that people can't be attacked for who they rank.

 

To Forsyth's point, keep in mind that these are just initial rankings, they are virtually meaningless other than to see what people's perceptions of the teams are. The voting (tournament) won't be done until AFTER the season is over, so all of the players have a fair chance to prove it on the field. Whoever ends up last will have the exact same chance to kick a** as the team ranked first. These power rankings have no effect on the voting, or even the other power rankings (which will be done throughout the season and will be based on performance)

How about this, how about we have everyone send me their power rankings in private, I'll do the calculations, post the results, and if enough people want, I can eventually post the individual votes. That way the votes should be completely honest, and if anyone has any concerns on how the voting was tabulated, they can have the opportunity to see what the votes were.

Also since everyone has done their lineups, people can start looking over the clubhouse rosters and making their power rankings. Make sure to look at both lineups, the entire roster (bullpen, bench) as well as defense and various intangibles (lockerroom cancer, whether or not the people are being drafted to play the actual position that they play etc)

 

Since this should take people a while, the power rankings will be open today and tomorrow. I will look at all of the votes by tomorrow night and do the calculations and I will post the results on Tuesday.

Ytrb, there will be monthly power rankings based on performance. In this redraft, since it is for this season, we will be able to vote directly based on performance rather than assumptions, so the voting should (emphasis on should) be much more accurate than in previous redraft tournaments.
