Just for the record' date=' I sent my pick and back up to Italian last night prior to going to bed, so he could have extended the draft, so don't get mad at me, a700 ;)[/quote']He had to shut it down at some point. He was probably sick and tired of updating the chart.

Since it's been 8 hours since it was WhiskeyBreath's turn, we can officially skip him now and it's Jacoby Ellsbury's turn. And he sent me his pick and he would like Joe Thatcher RP

Keeper is now officially up.

Phew. I've been thinking about taking him for about 6-7 rounds now, and Dipre and one of my friends from home kept telling me not to. In any case, I would have debated taking him this round if he was still available, so I'm happy that you made my decision for me Keeper.

I'm not insulting your pick or anything, I think he's a fine player at an ok salary, but it makes my life a little easier now that he's gone so I don't have to argue whether or not to take him.

Dipre and your friend gave you bad advice. He hits lefties and righties, gets on base at a good clip, and hits for a little power. He's more of a gap to gap hitter than a HR hitter, but he's still capable of hitting 15-20. And he'll be 27 this season.

I wouldn't necessarily say it was bad advice. While I still think that Markakis is a good player, I do think that there are better values. His defense isn't very good and his power has been declining. Not to mention that he was very flukish against lefties last year (unsustainable BABIP).

I'm not saying it was a bad pick, as I've said that I wanted him too, but at the same time, I am relieved that you took him. It makes my decision easier. I'm just saying that one can't say that it was "bad advice" to tell me not to take Markakis, especially with respect to defense, trends, salary, and the open market.

He's my DH, so his defense is irrelevant. He does have a cannon in right, though. His career line against lefties is .294/.349/.433 in 965 ABs. Nothing fluky about that. Besides, I can always find someone to platoon him with if it comes down to it.
