Honestly, it is difficult to make a very bad pick in the 1st round, and at the same token, it is hard to make a very good pick, at least in my opinion. I like all of the 1st round picks so far, but it really is the middle rounds that make the difference

I agree. The only "bad" first rounders in my opinion are ones that are only bad because it's relative to where they were drafted. Whether it's relative to who else was available or relative to overall first round talent, that's the only real way that a first round pick is bad, unless you were like Youker and picked Arthur Rhodes with your first round pick.

 

Not to mention that a lot of the first round selections are based on the order in which people picked. For example, as the 15th pick, I didn't have a realistic shot at getting Evan Longoria. Had I picked first, I might have taken him. I agree that the draft is made towards the middle. This is a marathon, and teams aren't decided with a good/bad first round pick. In addition, just because people have different draft strategies, doesn't mean that a pick is necessarily bad.

I've done enough of these to know that we're lucky to have made it this far. Granted, Divinity took a while, we wasted time waiting for Yankshater, and right now Jbay is taking a bit, but I'm pleased with what we've accomplished thus far. Anyone who's seen the other redrafts should be happy now too.

This is the first one i have ever been a part of but it seems to be moving pretty quickly i dont really expect it to be 1 pick after another there should be some thought taken into it

Yeah, when the later rounds hit we'd be lucky if there are half as many picks made in a day. It's going to slow down something fierce in the coming future.

He can make his pick at any time, no matter where the clock is. The clock just doesn't count AGAINST him at midnight. He can still pick after midnight, but the whole "clock stopping" thing only refers to the 8 hour window a person has before they are skipped.

Surprised Ramirez lasted that long. He's a bargain at 7MM and there aren't many good SS in baseball right now.

I was torn on Hanley. After Tulo and him, SS gets pretty thin. Still, the defensive metrics aren't so kind to him. A good pick, though. His "down" year in 2010 would be phenomenal for most players. If he had still been around for my 2nd pick, I would have grabbed him.

I'm happy that Jbay took Ramirez because I would have had to adjust my gameplan. Ramirez is a great player at a good value, I was just worried about his personality and work ethic.
