Someone said a couple days ago about a possible trade to the yankees for Cano/Hughes, Montero,+,+ i forget who it was but is there any validity to the trade?

"Give us Felix, and you can pick any five players in our organization"-- About ten different teams in the MLB, including the Sox. I really doubt they'll trade him right now.

Cano' date=' Hughes, Montero(supposively the best prospect) plus two more players? Lmao who in the hell said that? No way that happens.[/quote']

Yeah, doesn't make any sense. Montero, I could see. But given the state of their rotation, they can't afford to lose Hughes. And as great as Felix is, I wouldn't trade Cano for him. I would probably do it, though, if Dustin Ackley were included.

I said that was likely what it was going to take, but said the Ms aren't looking to trade him and why would they?

This is knee jerk madness. The Yankees are good enough to go into the season with what they have and look to improve later. They don't have to trade half their team for a SP. And Seattle's GM has said absolutely no, not happening, not even listening.

I would guess some teams out there are happy to see the Yankees scrambling. Their typical fall back plan didn't work this year. And I doubt to many GM's are going to rush to their rescue anytime soon :D

The Phillies need a fifth starter......

If they did actually trade for Felix, which they won't, it would be the 2nd best rotation ever.

No' date=' they don't. 4 is enough.[/quote']

So you don't believe in the adage that "you can never have enough pitching?" If I was them, I would certainly like the luxury of having all five.

Who has the best starting rotation ever?

1998 Atlanta Braves.

3.06 ERA, .653 OPS against, 1,074 IP, 1.18 WHIP, all in the middle of the year of juicer heaven.

I don't know much about my history of baseball but what about the 93' Braves? Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz and Avery?

Higher ERA (3.13), higher OPS against (667), higher WHIP (1.22), but a negligibly higher amount of IP (1,083).

If, besides the peripherals, you take into context the offensive explosion that happened in 1998, i think the '98 has a clear edge.

Who has the best starting rotation ever?

1971 Orioles are up there. Four 20-game winners. Cuellar, Dobson, and Palmer each pitched over 280 innings. McNally pitched over 220. 70 complete games between them, 12 shutouts. Horses.
