I nominate Curt Schilling. But he needs a clause in his contract that regulates the amount of times he can speak to the media per month.

An interesting opportunity for the Sox. I have no idea who is available (Schilling would be an interesting choice) but I am confident they will hire well. Pitching coach for the Red Sox would have to be a pretty coveted coaching position, right? It's the kind of opportunity that few with high aspirations would turn down.

Schilling is actually a very interesting option considering all the intangibles.. I agree with Dipre though, they would have to limit his air time. And I hope he would use his blog sparingly.

Congrats to Farrell BTW

Curt Schilling does not have the personality to coddle 12 pitchers.

Curt can do no wrong in my book, but coaching is not for him.

I've been saying it for a long time, and I've been saying it often. John Farrell was a disease to this pitching staff. I think this is the best thing to happen to the Red Sox since 2007. Hear it from me first-- the Red Sox's team ERA will drop half a point next year.

I think that Schilling and Pedro Martinez should share the position. We may not have the best pitching next year' date=' but we'd have the most entertaining staff.[/quote']

The best post on this thread, so far.

Good luck to Farrell. Normally I'd hope he does well. But since he is going to the Jays. I hope he fails miserably. He went as far as he could go with this Pitching Staff. These guys need another voice in there head. This could be a good change. Depending on the replacement of course.

I totally disagree. I watched Farrell for many years in Cleveland. Trust me - you will miss him greatly.

Perhaps you should have been watching him here instead. Find one of my other posts, or even just look at the talent he's compromised the last three years and maybe you'll see the truth.

Disagree, and Papelbon probably does as well. His input was very valuable in turning some of the young guys in the rotation and bullpen into what they are today.

Like I said, he can do no wrong in my book.

It works for TLR, even if some here think Tito's better than him.

Apparently not all agree with your opinion.

Its painful how biased this article is. Giving credit to Farrell for Dice-k's success? Come on now, this is clearly one of those respectful fairwell articles.

Curt Young would be a dream for this team-- .50 lower ERA without JF, believe it.
