I don't understand why they would go to Logan here. Joe has to know they're going to pinch hit for Murphy, and then Logan has to face a righty. Should have just stuck with Robertson.

There's a very real possibility that "Bad Neftali" is pitching tonight. Lots of power on his FB, but he has no idea where it's going. Jeter helped him out by swinging at ball four, then again, when a pitcher is throwing heat that fast.......

Five runs is too much to ask, but I think later in the series, in a big spot, they can get to Feliz.

Tommy Hunter and Colby Lewis will get pumelled. One of those guys is going to lose two games to keep the series from getting to a 7th game' date=' so Lee will get only one shot at the Yanks.[/quote']

Heh. You're not always right, it seems.

Haha, this wasn't accurate, but to a larger point, I don't think Lewis pitched that well today. He was very fortunate to keep the Yankees at only two runs.

Not to mention there were some well struck balls (some in big spots), that resulted in outs.

The decision to start Hughes is something that could cost the Yanks the series. If Pettitte loses a close low scoring game 3 to Lee, Girardi should get some heavy criticism.

They could but they didn't. Lewis got it done' date=' and the Rangers got the W. That is the extent of it.[/quote']If the series goes 6 games, this pig would get the ball again. I don't think I could bear to watch.

Obviously, but making the point that he was fortunate at times is relevant, for a couple different reasons. It's something that's relevant to the game, which is what is being discussed. And it might have some predictive value.

You guys should be happy with the split considering it could be 2-0 Texas right now.

This is true. Texas dominated most of the first two games, so the Yankees are fortunate to come out with a split. Normally, as the road team, you'd be happy to split the first two games, but this situation is a bit different with Cliff Lee starting neither of the first two games.

We now have no room for error in games 4, 5, and 6. I seriously skip AJ and throw CC and Hughes in games 4 and 5. Neither of them went deep and they should be well rested.

Give the man some credit. I honestly think he didn't have his best stuff today.

Bold prediction: The next times Lewis and Hughes meet, it will be more pitcher's duel than slugfest.

I think he was decent. Considering how well he was throwing the ball, I think he got the best possible result.

But I also haven't seen enough of Colby Lewis to know what his best stuff is.

I'll take the other side of that prediction and stick with my prediction that he gets pummeled.

I've seen a him a fair amount. I don't think he has stuff.

Lewis seemed to always get the at em ball when he needed it. He's a guy who lives on the edge, and he walked the line well tonight.

Haven't seen a lot of him, but i've certainly seen a better fastball from Lewis.

He used to have a better fastball 8 yrs ago. The guys used to top out in the 98mph range. Since he's been back in the states' date=' his FB has been in the 91mph range.[/quote']

That's kinda what i was getting at.

The couple times i saw him he was hitting 90, 91, 92 consistently. Tonight he hit 91 a couple times, but mostly lived 88,89, and by the 6th, he was throwing some 87 MPH meatballs.

He looked like he was putting some cut and some run on the ball, though. He tops out in the 91-92mph range, but thats a 4 seamer. He was cutting and running the ball all night which is probably why he got the kinds of swings he got

I checked Gameday. I was talking about his four-seamer specifically.
