You're all absolutely ridiculous. The 2007/2008 Patriots are the best team any of you will get to watch during your lifetimes. That team would have dismantled any of the Patriots Super Bowl winning teams 9 times out of 10. Just because they lost the Super Bowl on the flukiest play I've ever seen in my life does not mean they are any lesser of a team than the Super Bowl winning teams are.

This is what I'm saying, though. YH is the one who's bashing the 07-08 Pats. That team when it was at it's best, could absolutely wreck any team we've ever seen. I've never seen a team that was that stacked, and it wasn't just the offense, they were top-notch defensively as well. The 2007-2008 Patriots were extremely overpowering.

he is NOT going to want to go there' date='do u really think they have a good chance to win a superbowl ??[/quote']

You sure? ESPN is saying going to the Titans is "something that very much pleases him, that it was one of the places he was hoping to go, and that he plans to report there"

Considering how the waiver process works, with the worst record teams having priority first , it certainly could've been worse off for him.

You really can't say that we relied on our defense to win games though' date=' no matter what the numbers said. We were winning games by 4 touchdowns. We were not winning games with our defense. Teams who rely on offense (01-02 Rams, 07-08 Pats, all those Colts teams until they won) do not nearly do as well as teams who rely on their defense.[/quote']

LOL

Using the defense wins championships cliche. Then how did the Broncos, Packers, Rams, Cowboys, 49ers etc etc etc win most of the championships in the late 80s and into the 90s? They were offensive teams. Not to mention, the Pats were ranked 4th in total defense, and 4th in your favorite stat, scoring defense, with a near-20 PPG scoring differential. They won many games where opponents failed to score 20, and had under 300 yards of total offense.

i never said they were bad,im just saying you would think he would want to go somewhere that has a better shot of making a Superbowl run, titans are not one of those teams IMO,the colts will win the division and pats/jets/steelers/ravens are going to get there respect division and the 2 wild card spots

The Titans are a good team, and even better now with Moss, but I can't see how they make the playoffs. The Jets and Patriots in the East and the Steelers and Ravens in the north are probably the top 4 teams in football, that accounts for both AFC wild card spots

Randy Moss reportedly told Vikings owner that Brad Childress should be fired

"After catching only one pass for 8 yards in the Vikings' 28-18 loss to the New England Patriots, Moss walked into the visitors' locker room where Wilf and other executives stood. According to an NFL source familiar with what transpired, Moss told the Vikings owner in no uncertain terms that Childress wasn't a good coach and should be fired."

Less than 24 hours later and Michael Lombardi of NFL Network was reporting that Moss was waived. This is speculation but it's possible Childress got wind of this and quickly pushed Moss out before he brought Childress down with him.

Good move by NE.

No more wasted downs by throwing deep incomplete passes just to make him feel happy.

Stretch the field? Yeah when he feels like selling out a go route.

Pretty sweet block he whiffed on last week on a WR screen too.

This team has the weapons to go over the middle and use play action. They have also been able to run the ball a little.

How many championships did they win with Moss? They won them with guys like Brown, Patten and Branch. HOF? Sure....Ill take a ring over your career achievements Randy. See ya later.

And that changes the fact he would have been a cancer to this team? Same tired act, new city.

GREAT move.

See ya later Randy.

PS: If MIN doesnt give him an extension, they can expect his ******** to continue. You think he wanted to be traded? NO, he wanted a contract for next season in the fear of a lockout. HIS ******** will continue until he gets a deal.

Valuable piece?

Yeah when he decided to play.

Good riddance.

He did not fit in to our offensive scheme. 07 was nice, but we didnt win s***.

Once a bad apple, always a bad apple. Cant believe Minnesota wants to bring back a guy they were once happy to get rid of.

BTW, you will not win anything with Favre. Just saying.....

Its amazing that people believe Moss was the end all of greatest WR's to ever play the game and that just because hes gone we are f***ed.....disregarding the fact we still have the BEST QB in the game.....a QB who won with ******** WR's like David Givens' date=' Bethel Johnson, Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney, Chad Jackson, and Andre Davis. We won with terrible WR's and essentially zero contribution from Tight Ends. Howd that happen? Moss wasnt around back then and we still managed to put points on the board. Maybe the answer is Tom Brady. Maybe the answer is hes that F'ing good.[/quote']

Yeah, I said all this the day he was traded.

I like this trade for the Pats. Moss hasn't been exactly the deep threat the last 2 years that he was when he first got here' date=' plus it was looking more and more likely that he wouldn't be back. It sucks Moss is gone, cause he was a great player and even more surprising, a model teammate, but this was something that had to be done. Return on investment.[/quote']

Realistically though' date=' the numbers don't lie. Moss hasn't been a factor vertically one time this year. Brady's got more interceptions going up top to Moss than they have grabs. You have to change the culture around this team. Bruschi said it best, they get rid of an evident locker room cancer on a young team, you give your young guys burn in a year where the Pats obviously aren't Super Bowl contenders with or without Moss, and you load up on picks for a draft with two amazing offensive playmakers with Ingram and Green.[/quote']

But the thing is, Moss really isn't one of the best receivers in the NFL anymore. He doesn't provide the same skills as he used to on deep routes. He can't run as fast, he can't jump as high. He's still a good asset to have, but I'm happy we got rid of him when we did. I think we can be better without him. We don't have to waste time and plays that won't work giving him targets to keep him happy.

Moss hasn't done much of anything this year except for pout, and pretty much his only worth to the team came in him stretching the defense. Good riddance.

He was getting up REAL high in the first four weeks of the season when he didn't catch a single deep ball. He's still a good player' date=' but he's not the elite WR everyone thinks he still is. I love the guy, and he played his heart out when he was here, but its just time to move on. He was an ******* in the locker room and got in a tussle with Bill O'Brien in the middle of the Miami game, he had no catches...coincidence? He's still the diva he always was, it was just suppressed when he first got here because he got a real taste of winning and playing with a great QB. He's not the player he was, I would say that he's not even a top 15 WR anymore. Should we have gotten more? Yeah, but it's less about the pick than it is changing the culture of our team and locker room.[/quote']

I think it makes us better because it opens up our offense. We can do so much more now because we don't have to deal with Moss. The unit is greater than anything one person can do. Moss didn't want to be part of the unit' date=' he wanted to "get his" so to speak. It's not worth having a guy like that on the squad.[/quote']

The subtraction of Moss and addition of Branch would have a positive impact on the Patriots as a whole.

The talent level on our team may have been lowered, but as we all saw in 2001, talent doesn't matter. We're a better team today with Branch than 2 weeks ago with Moss. The fact that we bullied the Ravens, one of the toughest teams, especially in the third quarter shows how large getting rid of Moss was. Even though Moss really would have no effect on that in the game, getting rid of Moss changed the culture of the team.

We're better with Branch than Moss.

3 wins

0 losses

No locker room bitching

Do the math.

I really have nothing to say other than we have 3 wins and no losses against 3 good teams without Moss. The offense is looking much better.

Morons will continue to say "WELKER ISNT HAVE 13 RECEPTIONS PER GAME". Well I say, who gives a f***? We're back to the 2001-2004 "who gives a f*** about stats" offense.

We're a better team now without Moss, I firmly believe that. If you don't agree, well I'll be laughing all the way to the bank when we're winning games.

Belichick made a bad deal and had no clue what he was doing' date=' right? Each day that passes I look more and more right.[/quote']

3 games' date=' 3 wins. All that matters.[/quote']

It's easy to say we're not as good because we have less yards and are giving up more and blah blah blah. But when you've won 4 in a row all against talented teams, and 3 of them without the guy who supposedly made our offense tick (could be considered 4 since Moss was pretty much a nonfactor in Miami), it makes it look like the change was definitely for the better. Sure, we have less talent, but without him our style of play is completely different, and because of that we're definitely a better team.

The Pats and Belichick have ALWAYS thrived on the theory that the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. We never won a Super Bowl by having the most talent in the NFL, we've always thrived on having great role players and being able to put anyone out there that has the ability to make the play and put forth their 100% effort.

What?

I've been waiting for a while to bring this up, but I think it's finally time.

If there's any doubt we're worse off without Moss, you're officially nuts.

I find patting yourselves on the back to be obnoxious and tiresome. Isn't it enough to have a top 5 QB and coach at the same time? The pats are always good as long as those two are together.

And for the record, the 2007 Pats would beat this team by double digits.
