Also' date=' I'd like to point out how inaccurate this is. I said that if the Packers were to improve, than the Vikings will be about the same as last year. Again you're distorting the truth to fit your argument. Your argument was that YOU ACTUALLY EXPECTED Rodgers to play above his previous season's performance. I was illustrating how asinine that was.[/quote']

And you don't realize that the Packers improvement would be based on things other than the quarterback. Ask the Jets if the Packers defense is improved.

Except the 2001-2004 teams had 5 all pro defenders. The Patriots do not have a good defense, they have a genius of a coach, but Brady used to have a much better completion rate in 01-04 as well. I think you're a little ahead of yourself. I said it before, I'll say it one more time, the 2001-2004 teams had very formidable defense, with excellent ball control offensively. This team does not have the ball control or the defense of those teams. They were very fortunate to beat the Chargers last week, this week the Vikings defense just s*** the bed late.

If you're an "ends justify the means" person, then by all means, the Patriots are on a roll, but they've looked very questionable.

And @ you saying the offense looks better. That simply isn't true. They beat 3 disappointing teams, and looked very vulnerable during all three of them.

okay u are going a little over board now, have you watched a complete game yet from start to finish of every pats game so far ??????

Stats to mean s*** so stop bringing them up if stats told the story then SD would be 7-0 but stats don't mean s*** its for people that don't understand football and when they try to argue that's all they can bring up . so please stop saying pats are getting lucky due to the teams they are playing they beat end of story .. For you to give the pats a good post they are going to have to win the super bowl

Most of their defenders were older, and while they may not have been all pros in title, they were considered top-caliber defenders. Do you even realize how hard it is to be an all pro? Most of your HOF-worthy players get one or two all pro selections. You don't just get all pro because you're good at burning the clock off so it looks like you're a good defender. And Jerod Mayo was considered by the end of his first season to be a very good player, so I don't see the connection at all. The Pats defense isn't even close to the level it was in 2001-2004.

You realize you just made my point for me, don't you? You're arguing about a season in retrospect once we already knew the aftermath and trying to say there's no chance that the current squad can emulate it, even though we don't know which if any of our current defense might turn out to have great careers like those all-pros did.

The man turns most of his defensive draft picks into gold. In addition, the guy built a dynasty that was by no means overpowering. It was built on defense and and ball control. Yes it's overrated, but you make it seem like I'm trying to call the guy a magician. Belichick could make pretty much any team with an accurate passer, a good receiver and a steady runner look better than it is.

OK now the question becomes, why do you feel he can't do that with this crop of players? They've shown they can hold some solid offenses to reasonable numbers and they can make big plays defensively, why do you seem to be so very convinced that they won't round into shape as the season wears on?

Again, if you think the ends justify the means, sure. But the NE defense is 5th in total defense this season, and haven't matched their season scoring average for 3 weeks in a row, while Tom Brady has passed sub-60%, and the defense continues to give away yards, especially through the air.

Top 10 in total defense and playing the by-the-book bend and don't break Pats D, looks just fine to me. That was a very good offense they held under 20 points last night with a lot of tools in the toolbox. Seems to me that the Patriot D is a lot better than you're prepared to give it credit for.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that the Vikings have waived Randy Moss.

If the report is correct, the Vikings have given up on Moss just four games after acquiring him for a third-round pick on October 5. After calling out the coaching staff in his Sunday night press conference, Moss refused to travel with his teammates back to Minnesota, instead staying in Boston with his family. He'll now be subject to the waivers process, with any team claiming him on the hook for his $6.4 million salary prorated over the rest of the season. The winless Bills have first dibs.

watch him come back to NE

Its was obvious thats what he wants, he practically sent them a love letter with his comments yesterday. I don't think they will take him back though. His best fit would probably be going to the Colts, I have a feeling he would behave with Peyton throwing him the ball.

that would be sick , Moss and R.Wayne for Peyton to throw the ball to

The most logical team for him to go to would be the Chiefs. Familiar QB, plenty of former teammates, give them a guy to stretch the field. It's fairly obvious he wants to come back here though. I don't really want him back but I would definitely accept him back.

They are #28 right now in Total D at nfl.com. That's bottom-5, not top-10.

Who the f*** is running the show for the Vikings?

They shipped off a 3rd round pick and got nothing!

Teddy Bruschi is calling the Vikes organization and head coach "Inept".

The Vikes are on the hook for $3.38 Million this season if he goes unclaimed. But that won't happen. Too many teams need a receiver. Someone will grab him. I don't see it being the Bills. That would be really, really, stupid. I think the Rams have the biggest need since they have lost their top three receivers. And they have a really good young QB. Adam Schefter just said that there are currently ten teams that have an interest / need.

Yards. Points are scored regularly when the defense isn't on the field, so they are misleading when you are interested in defensive quality. However, if you must know, they are #21 in PPG against.

one minute you're saying its the best move and then the next you're saying that you would definately approve him back

Not only that, but she's wrong in stating I said Rodgers would be better statistically. I said he looked like he was ready to enter the "elite" status. The stats were already there, with the only thing missing being leadership of the team deep into the playoffs, like a trip to the SB deep.....which still could happen.

Good move by NE.

No more wasted downs by throwing deep incomplete passes just to make him feel happy.

Stretch the field? Yeah when he feels like selling out a go route.

Pretty sweet block he whiffed on last week on a WR screen too.

This team has the weapons to go over the middle and use play action. They have also been able to run the ball a little.

How many championships did they win with Moss? They won them with guys like Brown, Patten and Branch. HOF? Sure....Ill take a ring over your career achievements Randy. See ya later.

The above post was made 10/6, right after the move.

LOL @ everyone who said I was crazy when I agreed with the move and said that Minnesota would be an offensive juggernaut now that they had Moss.

LOL @ Favre and the Minnesota Vikings.

I was for the move the whole way, now we are 6-1. Re-reading this thread makes me laugh.

He's a talented player, but the Pats are without a shadow of a doubt a better team without him. It was the best move for our team at the time. If we were to bring him back, it could be a good move simply because he's seen what the other side of the tunnel looks like. If he's a changed man and willing to accept a lesser role you can't not bring him back.

Randy Moss is Randy Moss, always has been.....always will be. There is no changing him. He proved that this season. We got rid of him before we saw the full jeckyl and hyde transformation from good guy to bad. There is no need to bring him back. Time to move on.

Except for Brett Favre.
Favre is a self-centered narcissist, but I don't know if that is the same as being a Diva. The guy gets beat up every Sunday, and he never misses a game. He plays with all sorts of injuries and broken bones-- injuries that would send Ellsbury packing for Arizona.
