The Rays are overrated. Their line-up isn't really that great. My bet is they'd choke against the MFYs' date=' and that Texas has more cajones this year to beat the MFs.[/quote']The Rays won the season series against the Yanks and played them tough almost every game. Texas did not.

They went 4-4, getting swept in April, a month in which they were 11-12, then went 4-1 the rest of the way, with the 1 loss a 1-run loss. I agree with the idea that Texas looks like a tougher matchup at this point.

I don't think the Rays can beat the Yankees.

I think the Rangers have a better chance to beat the Yankees mostly because of their starting pitching

If I had to choose, I'd probably want the Yankees to face the Rays, but not enough where I'll be pleased or disappointed depending on who wins. They're both tough teams, and the Yankees will have their hands full either way.

Another noteworthy point: The Yankees haven't even really started the playoffs yet. Minnesota, unfortunately, doesn't ever really count at this time of the year. The Rangers or Rays will have momentum on their side versus the MFYs, while Jeter's been having chicken parm at Nino's Positano all week and A-Rod's spent the week shopping at the Limelight marketplace and getting facials/pedis at Bliss after ladies' lunches.

Texas looks like a much better matchup.

Two tough lefties (the Yanks' fatal weakness), an explosive offense, and a very good bullpen.

Other than Lee, I have no confidence in any of the Rangers starters.

Speaking of Lee, any chance that a team other than the Yankees signs him this off-season?

(I didn't think so, I was just hoping someone would tell me something that I want to hear.)

A Sabathia/Lee tandem at the top of the Yanks' rotation next year is such a scary freaking thought. (I love me some Lester/Buchholz/Beckett, but Sabathia/Lee is just sick. Any chance we can create a package that would yield us King Felix from Seattle while also picking up bullpen help?)

I think the Rangers are the only other team with a legitimate shot. They just signed a huge television contract, and will have the first chance to negotiate with him. But that's probably about it.

Anyway, I think Washington would be inviting the Rays back in the game if he went to Feliz in the ninth. Stick with your ace.

Good for TX.

I think the Yanks are going to have their hands full with them.

Another question: Where does Pena end up next year? I've always liked him.

I could see him going back to the Rays. No one is going to pay him, and, from what I've heard, he loves playing there.

Cliff f***ing Lee' date=' ladies and gentlemen.[/quote']

So cool about things. Just pounded his glove when Upton hit it and started walking towards Molina. Never even looked. I haven't enjoyed watching anyone pitch this much since Pedro in his prime.
