That sounds like a good night.

Yep. Can't go wrong with margaritas, especially the strong ones they make at Mexican restaurants (at least an entire shot at the bottom of the glass).

Yep. Can't go wrong with margaritas' date=' especially the strong ones they make at Mexican restaurants [/quote']I can handle my booze, but after 3-4 margaritas at a Mexican restaurant I fall into a coma about 1 or 2 hours later. The coma lasts for about three hours. One time I woke up in this girl's bed and I was still wearing my winter coat. I looked at her and she was still wearing her coat. I knew the girl, but had no recollection of how we ended up in her bed. The post-coma sex was fantastic.

Problem solved. It seems as if we got a new first baseman for 2011.

Thats a really great move for the team, so don't get me wrong, but giving up Casey Kelly does not feel right at all. Good starter prospects are not that easy to come by and I think he would have had a bright future at Fenway.

Well looks like this deal will not be happening according to Heyman. Waiting on Dipre to call me out on this now. I felt all along with the front office not just Theo but all involved would blow it like they did with Tex and now it looks 60-40 they have. Way to go.

A poster on SoSH has pointed out that there's a chance the Sox will wait to finalize a deal for a few months' date=' having something to do with the way that luxury tax is calculated, particularly [i']when[/i] it is calculated. By waiting until April the Sox won't take a luxury tax hit due to A-Gon's salary; it can apply to the 2012 season instead when more salary space is available. Otherwise they couldn't sign Werth or Crawford without taking a hit... or some such thing.

Honestly I didn't want to take the time to research or really understand it, but this FO knows what they are doing and if there is good reason to wait I have no reason to question it. They aren't going to include Casey Kelly and Rizzo and Fuentes just to have a guy for one season. They weren't willing to include Kelly this entire time, since they started discussing Gonzalez last year or before. They aren't suddenly going to add him for a very short term gain. It just isn't happening, no matter how stupid GoBruins thinks they are.

It's the AAV. He's due $5.5M next year at the end of his contract. If they extend him, for say 6/$120M, his contract with the Sox becomes 7/$125.5M, and the AAV becomes ~$18M, which would be the figure used in the calculation for LT violations.

It makes sense, but there's some risk giving up this many players without having the extension hammered out. Perhaps they will agree in principle and just wait however long it takes to avoid impacting this year's LT #, and if it were me, that would be the only way I'd proceed.

If Heyman told me the sun rose in the East, I wouldn't believe him. He's a major tool.

The Red Sox suggested a six-year contract at some point during the negotiations according to Heyman (Twitter links), but they don't want to do a contract on par with Mark Teixeira's eight year, $180MM pact.

I'm still saying it's going to be like 6/130 or something close to that.

I hope. But if I had to guess the only way this trade goes through is without the extention. Cause obviously they are having trouble agreeing. I'll stick to my prediction that they f*** this deal up over a few minor things.

We have what? A few hours left to get this done? It was fun while it lasted but we got f***ed again.

There having trouble agreeing? Where do you get that? The reason it's not finalized is because they are waiting for Luxury Tax purposes. A deal is probably already agreed to and will be finalized later. Just because it's not made official or the numbers leak out doesn't mean it's not already worked out. Look at the actual trade for proof. The deal was struck and completed 2 days before it was made public. He won't get passed April without a new deal. Just relax. And Agon will be in a Red Sox uniform even if they don't have an extension in place by 2pm today.

I'm fine with that. As long as at 2pm they agree to the trade I could care less about a contract or not. Just hope they don't call the deal off.

I generally try and refrain from responding to you because, quite frankly, it's not really worth the time. You have a clear agenda that you do not stray from, regardless of what actually happens.

This agenda is why you will stick to your prediction. It's why even if you are wrong, which is to say it's a day of the week ending in "day", you will sweep it under the rug and find something else to rant about. You don't need to tell us what you think, no matter what happens, it's always the same, it's like telling us water is wet. Save the bandwidth.

The trade will happen. AdGon can't stop it. He doesn't have a no-trade.

What might happen is the Red Sox will delay the extension until April 5th--for two reasons; 1) to see how his shoulder is, and 2) to wait until Drew and Ortiz' salaries are off the books (April 5th). That puts them well below the luxury tax, and allows them to spend more money this year, since AdGon only adds $6 mil this year. Speier, of WEEI, has spelled this all out.

Actually, the more important reason might be the second one for the Red Sox. I'm sure they knew what they wanted to do before they made the trade. AdGon really can't do anything about the timing to negotiate the extension. Sure, he wants it now, because of his shoulder. But he can't really control it, the way I see it.

Actually, I'm surprised they opened an extension window. Maybe they are serious about extending him now. Or wanted to discuss parameters of an extension, to be finalized later. To make sure they are on the same page. Either way, I doubt it affects the trade. It looks like a good deal for Boston.

One other thought: the Sox opened the extension window now because they thought they might have some leverage with AdGon's shoulder. Extending April 5th might result in a bigger contract. There are win-wins on both sides here.

I think it's got to be this. Waiting for salaries to clear for LT purposes makes sense, but you can't give up this much talent without some surety that you will have the player you want beyond 2011. The window allowed them to come to terms in principle with Gonzalez.

I think I've had enough of GoBruins. Would someone ban him please?

10:11am: CSNNE.com's Sean McAdam and Dan Hayes of the North County Times provide conflicting updates: McAdam tweets that there's a "good feeling" following talks that continued through the night. On the other hand, Hayes tweets that the two sides are at something of an impasse, and there's a chance the trade won't happen. The negotiating deadline is now less than three hours away.

All I did was post what I read.

"We"? Who the f*** is "we?". You are a tool with a computer and spelling deficiencies. You are not part of the Red Sox, you do not work for the Red Sox.

Also, you don't know jack s*** about negotiations or evaluating talent or a player's health. You simply have a clear and annoying agenda and refuse to go away, annoying most of the posters here to near Mencia-levels, since you are both more annoying and more of a tool, which is actually an accomplishment considering how annoying and how much of a tool Carlos Mencia is.

Ok. I'll tell you what. If AGone is offically a Redsox player I will go away for a full week. I will still read just not post.

If he's not however, You have to admit that I was right about most of what I been saying here.

How about it?

I have a better proposal:

Deal goes through, you go away; deal does not go through, you go away; temperature drops, you go away; temperature rises, you go away; Lady Gaga launches another music video, you go away; Lil' Jon says "YEEEEAH" in a video, you go away; Carlos Mencia (your long-lost identical twin) says something stupid, you go away; an illegal alien enters the country, you go away; Gas prices go up, you go away; Gas prices go down, you go away; the Bruins or Celtics win, you go away; the Bruins or Celtics lose, you go away.

How about that one?

Hey your so confident he will bbe a member of the Redsox I'm confident he's not. Your move.

Sean McAdams says the talks are getting further along. And the guy from the San Diego paper says that the deal might not happen now as both sides are at a impass.

And neither one has a Fing clue as to what the situation is. They are not part of the discussions, and there un-named sources that wish to stay anonymous because they really aren't involved either can go pound sand. The 2pm deadline means absolutely nothing.

Well thats the thing I'm not sure about. At 2PM how do we know if the trade is official or not? I don't care about after 2011 I'm asking cause I don't know how do you know when a trade is official if 2PM means abolutely nothing?

Your denotes possession.

You're is the contraction between you and are.

Also, you are confident of everything that is negative for the Red Sox, because of the simple fact that you are a tool of such massive proportions that Alex Rodriguez has a poster of you in his bedroom.

It's already been agreed to. The Red Sox will not back out of the deal if they can't sign to a extension today. I'm sure this was a window to see if it was possible to extend him now, but more to gauge how hard it will be to sign him over the next year. The window is not for the trade to be completed. It was a window granted to discuss a possible extension. I'm sure since everything else has passed and they feel like they can come to terms with Agon at some point in the near future, the deal will go through.

And if not guess what? I'll be right here rooting for whoever they put on the field. You can go jump off a bridge if you feel it necessary.

It's like he's is Jacko, but apparently roots for the Red Sox.
