I say they should give him a chance. I am still looking at the defensive part of the catcher position, and Martinez isn't the answer for that amount of money. Also, he is not the answer for 1B.
Beltre, Dunn, Bullpen and maybe a decent and not-too-old outfielder, that, I agree, would be a logical thing to do. But I also think that TE will do something surprising on the (maybe) vacant DH position.
