Damon was only good thanks to the short porch in RF in Yankee stadium .
He still mainly hit the ballthe other way. He did pretty well with the monster.

It is also not "mediocre."

He is by far the most generously compensated Sox position player.

His current level of production does not justify his pay.

Say what you want about how much Damon has declined or whether YS hid his weaknesses but he remains a pretty tough out.

You're right' date=' Sox have to make up 6 games in lose column with only 30 something games remaining without the help of Pedroia and Youkilis[/quote']

So you see Damon supplanting their production?

And a very competitive player that will be well received by the fans at Fenway.

Damon has no arm, and his fielding is horrible i dont see how this helps the team, the sox should leave kalish in the everyday lineup so he can get more major league experience

Absolutely right Kalish should be playing. Why we pull him against lefties is beyond comprehension. He actually had better numbers against lefties in Pawtucket. Nava should also be playing alott more. I wouldn't trade my bag of Dorito's for Damon right now.

Detroit isn't looking for any big prospect for a month of Damon. The deal is done. It's up to Damon. I hope he comes to Boston. He's a tough out. He'll see a lot of pitches in each AB wearing down the opposing pitcher.

Nobody said they where looking for a big prospect. I hope he doesn't. We don't need him. He's a liability defensively.
So, with the little bit of a chance that we have, you would rather have Nava in the bottom of the lineup rather than Damon at the top of the order? Not me.

You think ellsbury will get that much in arb even with the season he had this year?
I thought it was kind of high. Nice deal getting a raise like that for doing nothing.

Yaz-- good to finally see all those numbers in the same place. It is a little different than my numbers though --did you miss Beltre's cash coming off? Still, a very helpful reference for hot stove discussion.
